Twitter founder Jack Dorsey's Squirrel project revealed... as the Square iPhone Payment System {Engadget}
Oct 18th 2009 3:54AM Funny reading, but old tech. We evaluated a system like this running on Pocket PC seven or eights years ago. While the tech was working fine the cost of micro transactions was just too high to make it worthwhile. I hope it has improved by now.
Sony Ericsson needs to raise 100 million euros to stay afloat, says CFO {Engadget}
May 21st 2009 3:50PM Everyone I have meet who have the K750i have been deeply in love with the phone. Most likely one of SE finest products to date.
MMS-capabilities coming soon to a Swedish iPhone? {Engadget}
Nov 19th 2008 2:47AM Just a small correction, the name of the company is TeliaSonera since Swedish Telia and Finnish Sonera merged in 2002. Telia is just the overall name for some of their services in Sweden.
Samsung introduces 23-inch 2342BWX LCD with QWXGA resolution {Engadget}
Nov 6th 2008 12:24PM So I wasn't the only one wondering about it. DSUB is more than capable of this resolution, DVI should be able to handle it as well. If needed the refresh rate can always be decreased.
What's more interesting is why they name it Quad Wide XGA. Can someone please explain since it's exactly three times the normal XGA-resolution. TXGA (for triple XGA) would have made a lot more sense. Or why not QWSVGA since it's roughly the same pixel count. Anyhow, a proper QWXGA-display would have more than four million pixels, or almost twice that of this one.
HP Mini 1000 hands-on {Engadget}
Oct 29th 2008 3:33AM Sorry, I meant 1.8" drive, not 4.2". This is what lack of sunshine make to man. :-(
HP Mini 1000 hands-on {Engadget}
Oct 29th 2008 3:31AM Tripel, many netbooks use normal 2.5" sata-drives. And those are available in up to 500GB in size. This one on the other hand may use a 4.2" drive. I assume this since many of those run at 4200 RPM.
HP's new Mini 1000 and MIE Linux make netbooks fun again {Engadget}
Oct 29th 2008 3:10AM Amen! Everything which made the 2133 special has been removed. Sure, switching to the Atom CPU is most likely a good idea, but what about the high-res screen? And one of the major complaints people have had, about the funky mouse buttons, has still not been addressed.
ASUS rolls out Eee PC 1002HA, still mum about next week's model {Engadget}
Oct 27th 2008 2:12PM I can't see why people complain about all the different models. The only thing Asus has done is choosing a single name for each configuration. Compare this to say.. IBM which for each base model of the Thinkpad line kept like 50 sub-models. One with bluetooth, another one without. One with a dual core Pentium, another one with a single-core Celeron. One with dedicated graphics, another one with integrated. One with a high-resolution screen, another one with low resolution etc.. And they all used the same name, like Thinkpad T60 or whatever.
Sure, Asus could call them all EEE PC and be happy with that, but I prefer simplicity in names and configurations.
Samsung's NV24HD 10.2 megapixel shooter reviewed, deemed passable {Engadget}
Oct 8th 2008 12:33PM Passable.. Not too often we use that word. Reminds me of the sketch by Monty Python.
Sony Ericsson patent app takes the tedium out of zooming your camera {Engadget}
Oct 3rd 2008 5:41AM Which can easily be solved by letting the camera only zoom in or out when the phone is moved a certain minimum distance, for example 3 cm back or forth.
