8.9-inch MSI Wind shows up at Computex {Engadget}

Jun 8th 2008 2:15PM @Gilbert Tang,
I have no doubt that you could come up with "reports" that show Dell in a negative light. On the other hand, I could come up with a bunch that show the opposite. Dell is not the perfect company and I am NOT a Dell fanboy, however, I've had nothing but positive experiences with Dell products and Customer Support. This includes my personal purchases as well as dozens of systems purchased by the company I work for. Yes Dell has their problems but taken in the grand scheme of things I think the positives outweigh the negatives. If you've had bad experiences with them then, by all means, stay away. Just don't assume that your experiences are shared by all of Engadget's readers.

Just say no to HDTV? {Engadget HD}

Jun 8th 2008 1:59PM Why do dingle berries like this assume that because people do "something" (insert whatever you want: watch TV, use a computer, read comics, play games, etc) that they obviously have no life. Hmmm...it's funny how I find time to work, watch tv, goof of on the computer, woodwork, read books and many other things, yet I still have plenty of time for my family (wife and two kids). You see, moron, when you care about someone you find a way to do things together. There are also times that you need some time alone to do your own thing. But I'm sure you already know this seeing as you're such a man of the world. Or maybe you've never progressed past dinner with that lady you could have had? Let us know when you've managed to actually find one that will go out on a second date with you. Until then I'll be hanging out in front of my HD plasma TV with the woman of my dreams and my two kids.

Dell's XPS One (RED) slashed by $400 {Engadget}

Jun 6th 2008 12:50PM Ugly huh? Then I guess you think that 99.99% of the monitors out there are ugly seeing as this is basically a monitor with a computer built in. I actually think it's quite attractive. Knock that price down to about $800 and I'd jump.

Yes we have Gilbert. We've learned that Dell makes excellent computers and has good customer service. At least that's my lesson after buying a 24" monitor and an XPS1530 notebook.

Best Buy's Insignia NS-BRDVD Blu-ray deck: now with $100 in movie coupons {Engadget HD}

May 28th 2008 11:38AM @dj496
I don't want a PS3. I understand that it's quite highly rated as a Blu-ray player, however, I don't need another game system and, personally, I think it's ugly. Also, it's not compatible with my Harmony remote without an adapter (adding more money). So, adding up the difference you get $50 difference in price, $100 in free movies and $55 for the remote adapter. That's a $205 difference. Quite a bit if you ask me. Now, regarding the specs...if it plays movies then it does it's job. People always moan about how players don't do this, or that they do such and such poorly. When it comes right down to it if it plays movies then it works. I'm not saying that I'm running out to buy this player but at the price point it's at I think it's a viable choice for many, many people. I can't believe that at $350 it's at the bottom of the spectrum though. Wow.
