There comes a point when backward compatibility becomes a hindrance to innovation. When software developers have to constantly check and revise their code because it doesn't work in some weird configuration from 1998, they can't work as much on making things better for the main base of users.
holy cow. how did you get an Iphone with 8 GB of memory? please? people? can we possibly stop using memory as a term for storage space?
You mentioned yourself that you noticed it getting exceptionally hot. What idiot sits there while their ipod gets hot enough to melt their underwear? Apple should pay for medical bills and a new ipod touch. Nothing more. And your blackjack, was it off? And really? Mental disstress for the rest of his life? Come on, that's a cool story to tell people later.

By the way, the melting point of nylon: ~400 F
"he stood up and noticed that his pants were, in fact, on fire." Come now.
Please?
Honestly, i missed the fact that this was from the onion, and a believed it for all of... 20 seconds, because I'm not a complete idiot.
I'm actualy pretty happy to see this. Windows is finally feeling pressure. Time to innovate like Windows 98!
You are saying that if you buy something you suddenly have all intellectual rights to it? Like if I buy this cool speaker, I am now allowed to make copies of it, even though someone has a patent for part of it? Or a book writer has no right to sell his books, because he doesn't "own" the story?

YOU, sir, are an idiot!
It seems to me that everyone has missed the point. Roads already "squish", but that energy is wasted. On this road, you actually yield electricity from the squishing of the road. My gosh, what you're saying is like telling people that gas mileage can't be increased, because of the laws of thermodynamics. Here's a hint, the laws of thermodynamics only prevents efficiency from reaching 100%, but you can still increase efficiency on an inefficient design.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
