Big money, big money.
Fact of the matter is Audi has a much better range of engines. Infiniti is stuck on the 3.5/3.7L V6's. I'm sure I'll hear some arguments, but that engine just isn't great. Poor fuel economy and it doesn't like being driven hard. BMW's current N52/54 engines are leaps and bounds ahead. Their inline 6 is smooth as silk at 6k+ RPM and sounds wonderful. The Nissan engine is rough and sounds like a pop can in a garbage disposal.
Obviously it's traction limited. Look at the 0-124MPH time. 9.6secs. That's smokin! That should equate to a much faster than 4.4sec 0-60.
Ugg, at least they could have come up with an original idea. BMW has done this for many many years. They have raised millions of dollars for the SGKF.
Coco - have you actually driven a Caymen and a 370z or are you just posting crap based on some specs you read? I've driven a Caymen S extensively and a 370Z for about a week. While the 370Z is a big improvement over the 350Z it certainly is no Caymen. Every aspect of the Caymen is superior. It feels much lighter, brakes are much better and don't fade like the Z's. The engine loves to be driven hard and sounds great at 8k. The Nissan's engine is harsh and feels strained when pushed hard.
Actually I think you're wrong. Look at Dinan parts. BMW does not void your warranty even if your strap a Dinan supercharger on your car. I've owned many BMW's along with many other brands of cars that I have tracked. BMW has NEVER given me a problem with covering something under warranty even when I have lots of mods. They are really great about standing behind their cars.
Now my friend with a Z06 has had just the opposite experience. He's been in endless fights over several issues.
No, Straight 6. That's how they can use 3 turbos easily.
I seriously doubt this is going to be any competition for the 3-series convertible. The engine is the 335 is way superior to Nissan's new V6. The twin-turbo BMW feels like it has tons more torque, and is silky smooth and beautiful sounding as you wind it out. Nissan's V6 starts to thrash as you wind it out.
Yeah and how much can that Acadia tow again? What, 3000lbs? This tows 6600lbs and has over 400ft/lbs of torque. Plus the engine will last 250k+ miles.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
