The Apple remote is $19 now? The remote I used to throw in a drawer and never use when I had macbooks all these years.... and now that I want to get an iMac again, for the large screen, where I might actually use the remote - now it costs extra? rats.

I sold my Macbook back at Christmas and I've been waiting months now for the iMac refresh. I'm not sure what I think of it yet but now I HAVE to get something. Does anyone have an opinion on the new graphics card? Is it a discernible step up, or should I just go with the price-reduced, last model refurbs?
Just curious - which game was this?
Gamestop definitely has its flaws.... but I don't see why there is such a big deal about them selling used games. Guess what - if I want to buy a used game, and there's no Gamestop, I'm just going to go back to eBay and buy them all there. If I'm want to buy a new game, I'm going to buy it new and if I want to buy a used game, and there's no Gamestop, I'm going to buy it used via eBay or craigslist.

Gamestop is a ripoff in many respects, I agree, but no one is forcing you to buy your used games there if you think the prices are too high. I buy half my used games there and half on the internet. Sometimes I want a used game and don't want to wait for an auction to end or for someone to mail it. And sometimes I sell my games to Gamestop - taking a hit, I know - because I don't want to bother with the hassle of eBay and their fees and the paypal fees. And if I trade games in, yeah, I DO use that credit to buy another game - often a new game that I wouldn't otherwise buy new. Those are all choices I have and I, for one, am grateful to include Gamestop in those choices - even if they do have a stupid "open new game" policy. Guess what - I can always refuse to buy it if that's how they want to sell it to me and I can go buy it somewhere else! Stop complaining.
please? People keep making fun of me for having a PS3 - it needs something to do. I need these!
Hey, fox, thanks for the opinion. I prefer the 360 for almost everything, but I would like to get a bit more use out of the PS3 if possible.

I had looked for reviews, but since the game isn't released yet, I wasn't finding much in the way of comparing the two versions (and I'd like to preorder it, so I wanted to get at least one opinion ahead of time!).
Has anyone played the 360 AND the PS3 version? Are there any noticeable differences? I'm stumped on which to buy. I lean towards the 360 for most things, but it would be nice to have some more games for the PS3 so when my xBox RRoD's again, I have something to play while it's away...
Those in other countries, my heart goes out to you for your pitiful caps, but that's simply not the point here. The main reason people here are so upset is because many of us have been comcast customers for a long time and have consistently been subjected to poor service and increasing costs - along with a lack of other options. The point here is Comcast pushing its way into our lives in ways that a company is not supposed to - not in the U.S. The government, maybe, but comcast is not a government. It's also a seemingly progressive infringement on our rights - and excuse us, if we don't want to end up like you. Telling us to be grateful we get that 250GB because you only get 50GB is like us punching you in the face and saying - Be glad I only punched you once and not twice.

I work in a library where nothing is censored because we abide by individual freedoms. Yeah, we have a lot of people coming in every day just to use their free (taxpayer paid) hour of internet to look at porn (or to use our free wifi for unlimited looking at porn or downloading whatever they wish and however much they wish). Many people have problems with the policy - personally I don't like knowing there are a bunch of middle-aged men sitting in there watching porn every day - but this is about individual rights, not personal opinion.

Comcast is a business, and as such, it does have a right to cap services... but what happens when you have no other way to get service? How is this monopoly allowed? I would be surprised if they don't offer a "high user" plan ....but many of us here are already feeling the pain of higher prices in other areas... if it comes down to that, I'd rather cancel my cable and phone service and use internet only - which may be the future they are anticipating.

I never get anywhere near the 250GB cap, but I live in a house with 4 roommates so there are 5 of us using the connection (and we do pay extra for additional IP addresses) - and so for the 5 of us, all adults, all computer and internet-savy - to surpass the 250GB limit is not out-of-the-question - even with only LEGAL use.

The problem is also Comcast threatening to forever disconnect you after a warning or two... who does that?! I think that's what a lot of people are upset about. Imagine if your cell phone company completely disconnected your phone service if you went over the number of minutes allowed in your plan and the company vowed to never have you as a customer again? And what if they were the ONLY provider in your area, besides like Cricket phones? lol wtf?! So charge people for overuse if needed, but this comcast policy - or the way they go about announcing it because I do believe it's been in place for a while and just wasn't advertised - is complete B.S.

It is the infringement on our rights that makes us angry - and fearful because of what it bodes for the future - not that we "only" get 250GB.
RADIO ... what's the holdup with this? Why doesn't the iPod have a radio function yet??

No new iMacs with the next presentation.... just updated pods and mbooks
I would keep it all, of course! Except maybe the golf...
Well, I'm now awaiting my 4th xBox 360. The first one I got very soon after launch and it lasted over a year and a half before the RRoD showed up. After that, I got two replacement units from Microsoft - one lasted a while, the most recent one lasted just 2 months. Everyone raves about the extended warranty - and yeah, I'm grateful for it...but the problem now is that after this next one gets the RRoD, my 3 years will be up... and as much as I love the xBox games, I really don't think I will be paying for another one - at least not until I know for sure that the RRoD problem is fixed. The replacement program is great, but being on xBox #4 is just plain ridiculous. And, NO, I am not "doing anything" to my xBox except playing it! Everyone who boasts they are still on their original xBox and these other people must be "doing something" to keep having the RRoD are idiots. My first xBox worked for a long time too - eventually yours will fail, and if it doesn't, then you're just one of the few lucky ones.

I think it's awesome that they extended the warranty and pay for the shipping, but it's not so awesome when your box fails a week before Halo 3 comes out, as my #2 did, or when it fails one month after you get all your Christmas games, as #3 did. Now the games that I paid $60 for, I could have gotten for a lot less by the time box #4 comes back in the mail (avg. time from when you first call, wait for the box, send it back, and they re-send another one is 6-8 weeks).

I don't like my Wii or my PS3 games nearly as much... but at least they don't break.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
