Oct 27th 2006 9:11AM Scott - Not that I don't agree with your comments about Sony, I absolutely do, however I think that their 94% drop in profits could be due to replacing 10 million+ defective batteries.. ;)
T-Mobile rolls out Nokia 6133 {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 26th 2006 1:07PM WOW, I have this phone, and it is amazing.
About Mike Griff's comment though -
I just tried to set an mp3 ringtone, and he's right, it is locked. I didn't know that until he said that.
Luckily I don't usually use that feature, but I'm a little ticked off that I just switched from Verizon only to find out that T-Mobile is pulling the same crap.

Oct 10th 2006 4:31PM Can you disable AMR-HR on a Palm like you can by seem editing a Motorola?
I'd love this phone, but I'll be darned if I'm going to pay full-rate and talk on a half-rate network! It's disabling AMR-HR or T-Mobile for me!

Oct 9th 2006 9:24AM Why didn't you just try a different handset instead? I wouldn't have left the store without a replacement if it was under warranty. Especially only to leave and incur the costs of switching carriers.
But that's just me. I'm stuck with Verizon, so I'm used to sucky handsets.. ;)
Cingular claims GSM network integration complete {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 5th 2006 10:39AM Oh wow, I just researched this some on Howard Forums. People are FURIOUS, because it isn't actually finished. Check out what OldEngineer posted (a very well-respected member with over 2300 posts):

I know quite a few engineers on the inside, all over the country. The integration is NOT complete, not by any reasonable definition. I'm sure they've got some lawyers handy to carefully parse their words and narrowly define what THEY mean by "complete" so they can't be prosecuted for FRAUD, but by any common sense, ordinary person kind of definition, their claim is a flat out lie.
This is just eyewash for Wall Street.

ACK.
Cingular claims GSM network integration complete {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 5th 2006 10:32AM So there is no more 380 network?
Somehow I don't believe it. We weren't integrated merely 2 months ago. Haven't checked since then (when I switched to Verizon).
The funny thing is that I switched (back) to Verizon because I had horrendous amounts of dropped calls, network busy signals and missed incoming calls even with great signal strength.
What used to happen daily hasn't happened once since I switched back to Verizon. Not trying to plug Verizon here, there are plenty of things about them that I hate as well, but the PR article just irked me as I read it.
T-Mobile to announce 3G plans soon? {Engadget}
Oct 5th 2006 8:51AM I wonder if someone will build a septuple-band world phone with 850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100/2400 GSM/UMTS/HSDPA?
So much for GSM being standard, 'eh?
