I say Apple, Sony, Samsung... All of them, stop with the proprietary BULLSHIAT and just use a simple f-ing usb/firewire. Memory stick, meh, as if there aren't 30 other memory options.

It's so stupid it's infuriating. The money they waste making this crap could be put into actually making it better. You have to figure that the couple bucks per unit it costs to add and develop that crap could actually be spent on features, or better software.

See what happens when you let the bean counters get involved? They F up every product in one way or another.

It's pre-rendered because there are no navigation keys? What kind of logic is that??

It's not a high poly model, NVidia has been making 3D chips for years I find it very hard to believe that they can't make a version that fits into a small form factor.

I am more than sure it's not pre-rendered, that's just stupid. If they can put 3D graphic chips into the smallest laptops and palm computers, why couldn't they put one in this?

I don't understand why you would consider this a negative.

Simple fact of the matter is that there are some very smart people out there who do this sort of thing for fun and it may or may not have something to do with what they do for a living. I think it's a great way to innovate a product, let them mod it to suit their tastes. Everyone wins because the more successful this sort of busniess is, the more companies that will follow suit which translates into products that can be improved by the users - who better to figure out what they really need? Some marketing douche-bag, or the guy who uses it every day?

After all, Einstein worked as a clerk in a patent office while developing his theory of relativity. Kind of a long way from being a theoretcial physicist don't you think? There are probably a few fry-cooks out there that could make the next killer app for one of these things.

Probably cuz it doesn't have "Apple" written on it, that's what's wrong with it.

Somewhat, but your mbiggets problem is throughput, not CPU speed. Getting the frames into the box, then shuffling them around is a killer. Sure CPUs help a lot, but you need to have really fast RAM and a raid array.

You think you have problems, try rendering 3D and compositing in HD or film res!

I look at it this way... According to the people here at Engadget, if something is white, rectangular or even worse, has a dial/round knob on it, it's an iPod ripoff.

Because, you know, Apple invented rectangles and rounded edges, white too.

I look forward to seeing "apple ripoff" applied to touchscreens as well, even though they've been around longer than the douche-bag emo retards posting it.
