I did buy a 15" MacBook Pro before college.
Got the $200 student discount plus the free iPod touch, which I was able to eBay for $250.
I figured they would release something new soon, but that is always the case with Apple.
I'm still happy with my purchase, unless they release something really bad-ass :|

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you already use your interchangable lenses on Canon's higher end Video Cameras? The same EOS lenses you can use on their DSLRs?

And this is probably why I won't get a slingplayer client on my iPhone, because Apple wants me to buy TV Shows for $2.99 instead.

The DVRs I've always used, seem to have the minimal amount of memory/cpu power to barely do what they do now. Adding a streaming element to them would only tax them further. Also it would be a less-important add-on feature that they wouldn't likely put a lot of effort into. With more Mutli-Room DVRs coming out, having a PC Client becomes more feasible, if they can get past the Hacking phobias.
I personally think a company like Sling would produce better software (disappointing 2.0 software aside).

I'm surprised China or Russia don't attempt to do an Orion Drive system (wiki 'orion drive').
It wouldn't pass the ecological standards for NASA to keep working on it, but ecological concerns have never stopped China or Russia.
