One should really have their own house in order (and the 360 is far from it), before looking at throwing stones at someone else's house.

Also, since when do companies have to explain their 10 year plans to MS? Where is MS's plan? oh wait.. do they even have one? Shall Sony tell theirs so MS can get ideas? I think not. MS will have to solve their flatline all on their own thanks much.

Ordeith,

It is HD DVD not HD-DVD.

Also, the blu-ray platform supports MPEG2, MPEG4, AVC, VC-1. While initial titles had been released as MPEG2, a lot of the feedback on the releases showed (as expected) that this was inferior to AVC and VC-1. The studios have started making more of the releases using the better quality codecs (Flightplan and Casanova use VC-1 on blu-ray).

It is now already industry accepted that the formats have the equivalent capability in terms of video quality and titles released half through the first quarter up to date have shown a wash in quality comparisons.

I suggest that if you decide to attempt to correct someone, you ought to know what you are talking about first.

Why do you guys mis-represent stories? The commission is looking into *BOTH*. Again with your crappy bias bullshit.
"The prize is open to US entrants only. It's not like you can use it overseas anyway!"

uhmm, Canada is not overseas and not the US. Typical US hubris.

You can keep your iPhone.
Whoopie! Another Red Steel that will suck.
This device is a piece of crap. Unfortunately, there are enough no brain fancies out there who will buy this unit to make it a complete success and thus validate the crap that Apple has put together.
I have paid the same money for my Gold service as every other region (currency exchange aside) and my "Gold" is not in fact a Gold service at all but rather a subset of the US Gold service. If I don't have the ability to get all the services, access, etc to the same content, then mine is not a gold service. I should not have to spend the same money for the yearly subscription and also, anytime downloadable movies and such are mentioned, they should always be caveated with "Only available in USA" to ensure that everyone understands this is not globally available.

What the hell are you people talking about? The Wii's battery life is terrible.

As for rumble on the PS3 controller, I really don't care whether they introduce it or not. I have never found that it was a necessary (and in most cases even worthwhile) on games. Do people need their controllers to shake when they hit the guardrail or someone shoots them? no and it really adds nothing to the game experience.
What a stupid story.

"Looks like A2's are $199!!! OMG.. oh wait, none available for SALE... OMG wait.. price is back up to normal because it's bullshit and likely Crutchfield a web edit mistake, yet we'll just leave the story title as is so we can make it seem like they are cheap"

Basically this story should be completely removed since not one word of it is true. New precedent my ass.

"That pretty much nails the coffin shut on Final Fantasy XIII making its way to the Xbox 360 before the PS3 gets its act together with a price drop and some other solid titles. "

uhmm, no, in reality that means:

"That pretty much nails the coffin shut on Final Fantasy XIII making its way to the Xbox 360. Period."

Nice attempt again at trying to imply that it still may come to the 360, but just not in time.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
