i loved madmen and most of this seasons lost episodes but the wire needs some love. got them green house gases!

i really wish someone would go on this show and actually know how to argue. it seems like when there is a controversial subject the producers find a very non controversial person to go on the show and it does a disservice to the topic.
case in point - guns dont kill people, people kill people ... WITH GUNS! Yes, 'criminals' will always manage to get guns but if there were no guns for everyone (japan) then it would be harder for those criminals to get guns. while thats an extreme example the point is that alot of these arguments (on the show) never go more than skin deep. also if people kill people with guns and you cant regulate people (before the fact - really) then you should regulate guns to stop people from getting killed.
i dont really care about this topic either way, i just wish the show would find better people.

Jul 1st 2008 10:32AM what if i already have a family plan that i dont want to change? we have a great plan from 5-6 years ago that is perfect. i dont want the rest of my family to suffer because i want an iphone. this might be enough to convince me to buy one of those refurb iphones instead of the new one - 3g isn't worth the almost $60 increase.

30 Days: Same Sex Parenting {TV Squad}

this was probably the worst 30 days i have seen - not because it was done poorly or the people were bad (although the woman was clearly not prepared) but because it was pointless. Nothing was resolved except for letting everyone know that lots of kids have terrible lives and that these kids obviously didnt (which is no surprise).
This episode had no chance given the woman who was chosen. A person better prepared with a more nuanced stance and (to be honest) a stronger disposition is the only way it could have worked. Given that such a person is probably not going to agree to go on a TV show means I think this is one topic that 30 Days should have skipped.
People, regardless of your beliefs, keep it civil.

Jun 23rd 2008 12:37PM i take it R-Bro hasn't hung out with any investment bankers recently. it was just 40 seconds ago that they all smoked (and did coke), drank at the office and treated women like dirt. smoking in the office is probably the only difference.
still, loving the attention to mad men. hopefully it doesn't suffer the sophomore slump and can go on for years to come.
