Americans watching TV at record levels {TV Squad}

Nov 10th 2009 8:30PM no... thats crazy .... i've never watched 8 hours of tv in a day ... saturday and sunday football don't count right? right??

is household cumulative? i.e. if john and jane and their two kids each watch 2 hours (together or alone) does that count as 8? because then that makes sense. otherwise 8 hours of tv plus 8-10 hours of work/travel plus 8 hours of sleep.... well, i guess that works. as long as tv is always on when you aren't asleep or gone.

Six Mad Men characters who are in limbo after the finale {TV Squad}

Nov 9th 2009 3:52PM matt weiner is really sticking to his roots with the anti-hero male lead and the wife who wants out of the marriage instead of doing what the man does and cheat. as much as hypothetically i agree with betty in dumping don, shes such a mean woman (in a way that carmella soprano never really was) that you know its not going to work out.

if they really get divorced then i can see the campaign work being a way to bring her in, i just don't know if the fairy tale of henry francis is going to work out.

Hulu to charge for content; cubicle dwellers everywhere cringe {TV Squad}

Oct 22nd 2009 4:33PM i'm as cheap as the next guy but did you guys really think hulu was going to stay free forever? it would work fine if one or two people cancel their cable/sat and watched free tv on hulu but if it happens en mass AND more people are using DVRs to skip commercials the faucet is going to run dry.

I use a DVR and occasionally Hulu but are you really saying if you could get HD Hulu for $10/month with no commercials that you would really just stop watching TV? i'm sure alot of people would start torrenting or keep torrenting but theres a decent number of folks who would cancel their $50-100 cable packages and jump onboard for $10/month 'online DVR', which is what i imagine they'll try and package it as.

i travel all year for work and only watch tv on the weekends but i know i'm never canceling cable/directtv - without sports online i'm always going to be forced to keep DTV.

I have a problem with Don Draper {TV Squad}

Oct 19th 2009 6:48PM i dont disagree with the idea that Don is a jerk (as others are saying, hes very similar to Tony Soprano in that way) but i think you reasoning is a little off.

First, he left the keys in the pocket because right as he was putting his stuff back the baby cried and he just forgot. Nobody is too smart to forget when their child is involved.

Also, even if he does want to get caught (i dont think he does) hes doing a pretty bad job of it. Leaving stuff in a locked drawer in your study when you are the "man of the house" with a wife that is either stupid or ignorant isn't that reckless of an act. And getting arrested for fraud is the least of his worries.

I wouldn't be surprised if your right and he does self destruct but i think you're overreacting.

I was so excited to see Betty tear into him when she found the box it was pathetic.

Dress like Don Draper with Brooks Brothers' help {TV Squad}

Oct 15th 2009 4:51PM not included for $998, the ability to look as good in the suit as jon hamm. i'd drop 10x that much for a suit if when i put it on i looked that damn cool.

Fitbit review {Engadget}

Oct 15th 2009 12:38PM i was so excited for this when I first heard about it but it looks like the hype couldn't possibly be matched by the actual product. i still might get it just for the neat factor but i'm a little sad.

and if really all you are getting is the steps then a $5 pedometer would be all you need. granted the fitbit is more than that, a 95% discount is pretty steep.

FOX says they will air all 13 episodes of Dollhouse {TV Squad}

Oct 13th 2009 12:07PM this show is so getting canceled. i've watched every episode (even the reboot episode) and these comments are the nail in the coffin. fox is trying to avoid another nerd riot by airing all contracted episodes but unless it gets way better or the ratings improve dramatically dollhouse will be done at the end of this run.

its just not that good. other whedon shows may have been great and unfairly canceled but dollhouse has been half baked from the start and no amount of dushku skin can change that (although i'll watch if they try).

What should happen to Letterman? {TV Squad}

Oct 5th 2009 1:22PM breaking news. rich, successful (single) man sleeps with women! next up, earth revolves around sun and dog bites man!

but seriously, IF it was anything more than that then i can see why he should get reprimanded or fired but if its just that he had sex with women at work then its really nothing new.
