did you yahoos even watch the video? the top video shows that the Bold is in fact on wi-fi. it's great UI just doesn't show the wi-fi connection in the menubar in the browser app. in the second video thw wi-fi indicator is in a different location, so clearly the two phones are running with different software or settings. great job engadget! i guess you'll have to make yet another post debunking the debunking.
Rubbinz, you computer as car analogy is genius, except for the fact that the only similarity between the two is they are things people buy. to really push your point you should have used a new cheese vs. moldy cheese analogy.
if after receiving a faulty new unit and then get a perfect condition refurb that looked new and acted new and had the same warranty as a new one, then yes, i'd be glad i got the computer i wanted and would save myself a whole lot of hassle and use the computer i had in my hands that worked as i wanted it to. but then again i look at my computers as tools more than possessions or status symbols, so maybe if I had different priorities i'd feel differently.

obviously, i'm not defending Apple here, they have performed terribly, but I don't see this situation as an aberration, and so i AM discussing strategies to use when things like this happen.
Your sob story, in addition to being annoyingly whiny, also is inaccurate, your Replacement #4 isn't even a replacement, but story about someone not giving you overnight shipping. When you are complaining, being inaccurate is shooting yourself in the foot.

Anyway, personally i would have kept the first replacement, the refurbished one which apparently you didn't even turn on and had no defects. In my experience Apple's refurbs are LESS likely to have something wrong with them than a new one, and they have the same warranty.

to summarize-- 'the first reason: it's thin and it's light' the second reason: 'did i mention it's thin and it's light?'
InDesign CS3 DOE NOT WORK for many, many people, myself included. The blogs are all ignoring this and instead repeating Adobe's BS, but this problem is being widely experienced: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=374967&page=1
this is of zero help to users who put the dock on the bottom, which i believe most people do. using dual monitors, i really have no choice as to where to put it. and the leopard bottom dock is still the worst UI Apple has ever, ever done. I'm not buying leopard until someone release a stable hack to fix the bottom dock.
Well, this works as long as the person who stole it is an idiot and doesn't google the solution to this problem. Anyone can reset your password by possessing a system install disc. Boot from the CD, and go to Rest Password. Boom, done. Nobody is thwarted. If you are concerned about protecting your info if your computer is stolen, this 'solution' is worse than nothing—it gives you a false sense of security.

one of a hundreds of pages with the info: http://www.askdavetaylor.com/how_do_i_reset_my_mac_os_x_admin_root_password.html

I love my 'zero performance' Matrix XR, it drives just fine for me and on a recent trip of about 3k miles we averaged 37 MPG at between 75-80 MPH (love the Matrix 5th gear ratio), including about 1k miles with 500 pounds of cargo in addition to two passengers and a dog. I've never been as satisfied with a car, and I'm excited to see what refinements have been made in the 2009 model.
hey genius, they just announced sales figures, we don't need your useless anecdotal evidence. duh.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
