"When you auto-detect your HDMI video settings on a 720p/1080i TV, the PS3 automatically goes to your highest resolution (so, 1080i)."

720p is superior to 1080i. 1080i is more like 540p. I'd recommend 720p over 1080i (if your hdtv is capable of it).

"PS3 599$ + HDMI cable 50$ + 2nd controller 40$ + 15 games x (appx.) 65$ = 1664$"
Didn't they say it came with 2 controllers?, so you dont need to buy the "2nd controller" right?

"Do you have HDTV? Better get it fast to get the best picture out of your PS3. + 1500$"
If you've wasted your money on an Xbox 360 as well, then you should already have an HDTV! OH WOW! HDTVs for $244 to $400!!! People who dont want to spend that much for an HDTV dont have to spend that much for an HDTV!

"That's about 3150$ for gaming. I hope you've won in the lottery or robbed a bank or something."
(Price total needs updating) Btw, did the crime rate rise during the release of the Xbox 360? No, people actually payed with their OWN MONEY!! WTF?

PS3 $499 (cause I'm cheap) + HDTV $356 (so its not 1080p, its still 1080i) + #of games (who knows)

$855+Price of Games... Thats including HDTV!!!

(pricing is based on personal preferences; look at the fools who also spent around $3150 for Xbox 360 stuff! I lol'd!)

Go buy a Wii instead if Xbox360/PS3 is too much for you! Its the console for everyone, hence the name! Then everyone can play with their Wii!
So part of Sony's division did rootkits for music cds... is that why everyone hates the PS3? Its not even the same division... We don't blame the makers of Xbox for Internet Explorer (At least I don't).

People hated the bomerang controller (I liked the original better) so they redesigned it... people still hate it!?

The price is roughly the same as the Xbox 360, yet has more features and comes with Blu-Ray, plus you dont have to pay for Xbox Live... People think its too expensive...!? Do the !#%#% math and figure out for your self the Xbox360 and PS3 for approximately the same stuff costs the same ammount! (Go and play with your Wii if you think both are too expensive)

Joystiq seems Biased! I swear I didn't see this much negativity for Xbox360, And I cannot imagine anything bad about the Wii since the readers are obviously mostly Nintendo fanboys by the look of the polls.

By the way, I've been examining all of the consoles indepth for a while now. This where I stand:

PS3 - Powerful, next-gen video (prefered choice between xbox360 and ps3 because of the larger blu-ray, built-in)

Xbox360 - Powerful, (next-gen video; together costs roughly same as PS3 price! How about that!!!)

Wii - Looks really fun! Change the name back to Revolution (._.) "Hey kids, want to play with my Wii?"

Joystiq, a great site for gaming news... Try to work on your bias and I'll come back!
oops!
Correction to my last post 56,
"...I don't understand..."
"Additional Fees are Required", it says it on all of my FFXI boxes, so I understand what the problem is...

I wont say the person is stupid for missing it, but it is his fault for not doing his research or reading the box. Did he think he was purchasing FFXII? Besides, if he was so interested in playing the game, he would have understood that it is a MMORPG. Most all popular MMORPGs cost money for maintanance, that seems like common-sense (common-sense is uncommon now a days).

That hangul in the back of the picture is korean. Theres a difference between korean hangul and chinese characters. If you are familiar with the languages (doesn't mean you have to be able to read it), you can point out differences.
I've been an editor for some game articles, but its difficult to collaborate with others, especially when they are very controlling. Its hard to agree on organization, and if you want to add something, you better have a source or reference.

There is also much discussion about whether game characters that have a lot of information should be given a separate article. Some people want them all shortened and merged into a single article, while others want to keep the entire article in-tact.

If you don't like dealing with fanboys/girls, know-it-alls, speculators, or people in general, don't write on wikipedia; its extremely frustrating.

I don't have anything against the people I argued with before I left; opinions clash, and its much like politics. I hate polititians...
I just hope they don't have overly fragile screens which voids the warranty when they break, so they can make you buy a new one every month; like all iPods.

Other than that, a 120 gb mp3 player would be nice for those who don't want to spend the time swaping their songs on a flash card. (I don't mind swaping files on a flash card ;)

Spread the word to recycle your electronics, not that hard to do... But to write a law that is not even going to be inforced? Does legislation have nothing better to do? Instead of passing the law, why didn't they just try to get the word out you can recycle your electronics, and where you can... Either way, theres no difference I guess...

btw, If the landfills are filling up, make more landfills, burn the garbage, or send it into space (maybe not a good idea seeing how inefficient NASA is).
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
