@Noah:
That's why religious folk don't fare well in science; they think that belief is a requisite to faith. Science is only a belief system based on facts. Einstein has been proven wrong; he's not some kind of saint of the science world and neither is Newton. They were making their conclusions based on observable evidence which, in their time, was relatively (no pun intended, but you won't get it anyways) limited. Today, thanks to Newton and Einstein, we are able to make more precise measurements. I could go on and on and tear your naive comments apart but you wouldn't understand anyways. Instead of making assumptions based on your limited knowledge of the world, go learn quantum physics and (since you brought it up) an evolutionary biology text. Until then, stay off the internet. It's for adults only.
I would totally use this.
I say we end this stupid War on Drugs and instead use a reasonable regulated approach... Increase ag and import/exports, and who DOESN'T like chilling back listening to Pink Floyd while staring at visualizers?
OS X has had voice recognition built in for ages. It's a matter of implementing it into the version of OS X that runs on the iPhone. There's really no hard/soft-ware reason for it.
Satellite internet sucks in America. Hghesnet limits your download amount per 24 hrs depending on your plan. For me, I can't download more than about 400 MB before my download and upload speeds get throttled to below dial-up speeds. It sucks major. It's called the Fair Access Policy but there's nothing fair about it at all.
I like how anonymity makes people think they can say anything they want about another guy's girlfriend. Sure she's cute but jeese guys have some respect.
Awesome. I'd like to win one, it'd beat the pants off my old nokia.
I'm 18 and so far, the Wii is the most appealing to me, always has been. Bought one two weeks after launch and I haven't grown tired of it. True, the game library isn't the largest at the moment, but the fact that I can quickly access news reports from all over the world through the News Channel is great; grabbing the globe and spinning it to read news on the War or what's going on France is just amazing and intuitive. The Forecast channel is always useful; I recently went on a trip to Pismo and fired up the Forecast channel to check the weather. Not to mention the Virtual Console which let's me easily play older games like the original Legend of Zelda or Mean Bean Machine.

Most of my friends are the non-gamer crowd that Nintendo is advertising to and they love the console for two reasons: Miis and Wii Sports. It doesn't matter that the Miis aren't even close to life-like, they're fun to just sit around and make little caricatures of anyone you'd like. Then Wii Sports is amazing in it's own right; playing a 4 player tennis match with my friends, represented on screen by Hitler & Kim Jong Il vs. Bush and Clinton was amazing.

So to write off the Wii to a small population of under 14 year old's is ignorant, the Wii has elements that appeal to everyone. Sure, if you want your games to look more like Saving Private Ryan than Frank Miller's 300, then go ahead and get a 360 or a PS3. If watching blood and cars fly across the screen as realisticly as possible is your thing, then buy those other two consoles. But if you want a highly intuitive method of interaction and a better overall "fun" value, then get a Wii.
Am I the only getting confused by all of the processor names?
I'm sure that if the IR emitters are different lengths apart, there wouldn't be a problem. Just adjust the sensitivity, since the remote uses the points to triangulate distance anyway. The sensitivity adjustments compensate for the varying distances from the screen.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
