After recently losing all my data, Having another instance of my files would be nice.
I would love one of these.
This is clearly not real.

While I would love to see Apple enter this market, it simply isn't in line with their product history. Apple demands a strong margin in order to enter a product category, and there simply isn't margin in the netbook business. Netbooks are profitable via volume - much as Wal-Mart margins are slim, but they do enough volume to make the venture worthwhile. Furthermore, Apple tries to maintain a solid brand image by selling products with a decent amount of power (hence all the spec bumps on their products), and that isn't easy to do at $500. Entering this product category could hurt their brand image, which would be extremely costly.

Though the device would probably be made well, Apple simply would not release a sub $500 product in this space - they would prefer to have the consumer buying another MacBook as a second computer.
Help me find my way home.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
