I don't think this will be very successful. There's a lot of CULV ultraportables out there that will outperform this on both CPU speed (correct me if I'm wrong) and battery life (considering the 330 has no speedstep or other power saving features), and at the same price point. I just don't see a future for these bulked up netbooks. If Nvidia made the ION platform for CULV processors instead, it'd be a dream come true.
I sorta doubt this uses the 1000fps mode, seems horribly excessive unless you need to watch the golfball deform (at an extremely compressed 224*56 resolution too).
Acer should be making 3 - the 1820PT, 1820PTZ, and 1420P, though no real news on when they'll be out. They were supposed to release just after Windows 7, but no sign yet, except on Acer's product page. Not sure about Asus.
I own a Sony T-70, and I'm afraid I can't match your enthusiasm. The T-100 was a MUCH better camera. 5x zoom that was stabilized better than any other lens I've ever seen, real buttons for controls (I find the touchscreen interface much slower), and no stupid 10 minute video limit (which I learned was imposed to avoid some EU tax).
"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
