Esh, I don't know how I feel about this, as a consumer it doesn't affect me, of course, though I will miss the ATI name, it seems as though there will be considerable backlash from this decision, especially from the Intel front.
Indeed, you ARE the Master of Poop production.

After all, Apple has never done anything unsavory, say being a hypocrite in the way that they would constantly moan about the lack of innovation, and when they become the top dog, what do they do?

Sit on their asses while the competition, much like Apple did to Microsoft, touts superior *everything* and yet remains the minority.

What else?

Oh, let's not forget their bullying of the Flash market, jacking up the prices for the consumer(STILL being bested by other players after so many years in price), while they reap an extremely comfortable profit due to decreased Flash prices.

Don't feed me the many Microsoft illegalities, every corporation has some, or will, eventually, there's no Corporate purity, no matter how White and Pure the plastic on the outside is.

PC Drones, Yeah, Mac Sheep.

Myles: You take someone's point, as laden as it is with proper logic, and essentially call them an idiot, takes one to know one might apply here.

Despite a few mistakes, exactly Xavier, those claiming extortion of Apple need to plop the Cud from the mouths, stop Baa-ing with cute earphones on, and look at the details instead of crying out without thinking, this move is for the consumer, and in no way benefits the governments associated with it.
Apple and Microsoft in Europe, well, I suppose they DO have something in common then, don't they?
An actually fascinating post on Engadget, who knew?
Grandpa has Sirius, he seems to love it, came with his new Dodge(Believe me, I tried to get him to look at the Titan, I *tried*), I have to say, Radio with no commercials is rather orgasmic, you're raised your entire life with commercials, it's almost like a Drug without them, TV and Music, so I support ads on Talk channels to keep the dream alive!

Good that Google is getting in on it, I wonder what they'll advertise exactly.
Damn, this should certainly help developers with the dough to spend, maybe ATI can finally dig into the Professional market and challenge nVidia now that they have AMD at their back.
Two Antecs down, both boring boxes like every other damned pricey case out there.

Name some others you two, and since we're at it, why don't you A_B?

Here are some criteria

No Boring rectangular Boxes

No damned Windows on the side with excessive LEDs, copycatting the copycatters.

Meet those and you'll of proven yourself non-sheepish, I.E., hating the case just because it's hard plastic and/or Alienware.
Wow, slow on intake again Engadget, but I love that someone gives a Crap about cases, to those calling it Fugly, go dive into a vat of Beige Paint, you'll come out more interesting.

I've played with the previous case, and Japanese SECC(Or whatever) is a very solid plastic, not like that Crap so often found on "Gamer" cases, which is indeed the cheap stuff(And can be easily broken off with but one hand), this stuff is much hardier and it's also integrated into the chassis, which means no breaking off. Having a door serves no purpose unless it has a locking mechanism or a cage really, I do love the design, it's very snazzy, the lighting isn't cheap, and it doesn't conform with the A-Typical crappy plastic window, it has it's own style.

I do love that they moved the ports up, that was always annoying, to reach down on the bottom of the case just to plug in an external drive.

As for the insides, well, those don't change much, so no comment. =P Gaw, I wish they sold the cases in their Gear shop, such amazingly great quality, no worrying if Gamers are hyping a bad thing(I'm looking at you, Sennheiser) because it has the most LEDs or spiked plastic edges, it's a sure thing.
Aww...Don't get ruffled Kev, once the PS3 hits we'll have a new Worst Console Ever. =)

Microsoft might do this, it can definitely take the loss, it's not a small company with a few offices in South Carolina, it's quite possibly the largest corporate entity out there, and if it helps drive home the idea of Microsoft's console being a better bang for the buck, they'll probably do it.

Then again, they might see no reason to, considering Sony's already inflated price making their console look even better by comparison, of course the PS3 will still sell more, but I suspect Nintendo and Microsoft will make a bigger mark than last round, at least at home, if not internationally.
I agree, it's not open to the public, we just get to watch Videos, etc, from the show, so why does it benefit us? It doesn't. The money could be better spent, the time could be better spent, and we could definitely benefit from not having all of our news Jumbled into one giant Mess of coverage for days on end.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
