So even the cheap ones were more expensive?
They need a music manager for Android, so perhaps this'll be that.
Why are Engadget commentors generally so stupid?

This is not a netbook, that's the Vaio W. This is a notebook, it just runs an Atom processor to keep costs down and battery life up. It replaces the TT which went for double the price, so this is a bargain. Thinnest laptop ever, incredibly light, made from carbon fibre & aluminium, runs on a SSD, etc, etc I just went to the product page and it's a pretty impressive machine. Netbooks have spoilt us and made us expect so much for so little. This is a luxury machine and frankly I think for all it offers it's actually very well priced. Sure they could've offered an HD version and maybe taken out some other luxuries, or made the extended battery a seperate add-on to keep the price down; but then you're pretty much left with the Vaio W, so why bother.

The only hangup with this machine is the Atom processor not being that powerful, but it can still handle most tasks though might struggle with HD video from what some reviewers are saying.
@Sam: People get jailed for promoting terrorism, so obviously there are elements of the law that over-ride the freedom of speech laws. Not being a lawyer I don't know what they are. I don't think someone going around saying "stealing is good kids, don't pay for things" would get away with it for long. I've never actually been to TPB website, but it's obviously covered in links to pirated materials. To my mind that's the same as going "that shop has no security staff, go in there at 4pm as the cameras switch off at 3:59 and you'll be able to take anything you want from the shelves." I ain't holier than though, I just recognise that what they are doing shouldn't be legal.
They've got "pirate" in their name, how can you then say they don't promote piracy?
For all the people saying "windows no thanks, otherwise great". Get real. For all the flaws of Windows, and resource hungry Vista they have the most fully featured and advanced tablet features of any OS out there. Vista and what I can tell from reading about it Win7 really excel there. Indeed Vista probably looses a lot of points with their Tablet features as for 98% of people it just adds unnecessary bloat. Give it 2 or 3 years when touch & tablet are more the norm and people will realise Vista was ahead of the game in some ways. But by then it won't matter as Win7 will provide all Vista did with a more sensible footprint (or at least, let's hope so).
As a non-Mac user it's bewildering to see so many "improvements" for a system that supposedly just works. Nice to see they believe their own PR and say "improve" instead of "fix". I'd probably have tried an Apple by now if they didn't have such a smug and self righteous way of promoting themselves. No doubt Macs are better than Windows PCs for many things but I'll never get to know until they stop being so arrogant.
Is the iPhone really so bad a product like this is necessary? How long does it last between charges?
Proprietary is fine for Apple, but not for Sony?

Sony are continually coming up with innovative and sexy products. They have made a couple of errors, but what company their size wouldn't?

They deserve respect for all the great products they've come up with over the years, not being dissed for one or two mistakes.

But people always concentrate on the negative, human nature at it's worst.
I was in there yesterday, it's one minute from where I'm sitting just now. Quite surprising to see it mentioned on Engadget, it's just a little shop.

Anyway, it's pretty damn ugly, but then I doubt people who buy such computers have the same aesthetic sense as me.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
