I am completely unimpressed.

Apple and their self-indulgent "we make everything so simple and easy to use" marketing banter... have once again left me wondering why it is I own a Mac in the first place.

First install failed. My main user account wouldn't load my hard drive... but I could access other users perfectly... which is no use at all as my files are locked onto the admin user (of course.) Tried it again. Also failed. HD just didn't load, even though when I went to attach something in safari (which did work randomly) I could browse through my files. Maybe a few restarts will work? 10 later I realized the "oh so smart" OS wasn't gonna give.

Went to the mac store where the "mac genius" asked me if I had been running Tiger on my mac before I installed... and I answered... um, yes. And he proceed to telling me that "aha, yes there seems to be some problems when you have tiger on your mac previously..." Are you serious? A simple upgrade from a previous gen OS to a new gen OS is causing problems????????? Isn't that the whole point of a new OS... TO UPGRADE? He then told me to do a clean install... and I said, but... what about my files... and he said... "umm yeah, there is nothing I can do." Oh really? So i'll just erase my hard drive without copying it will i? (I do have a backup) ... not as current as I would have liked it to be....

Anywho, I ended up starting my mac in firewire disc mode to copy all the files to another mac (did the "mac genius" not know of this feature in macs?) Argh... and then proceeded to spending 8 hours to install the whole thing from new and copy all my files from and back again. A real pain in the ass.

So was Leopard worth all that? Absolutely not. There are now a few more icons in my dock, which to be honest will probably be taken away after a few months when I realize (as with dashboard) that they are actually not so useful.

I wish they would stop insisting upon themselves.
He's an idiot. Get over him TMZ.
... and please take the banner down already... we get you have the essential iphone review, but everyones read it already... and being reminded of its existence every time we access the site is getting on my nerves... ;) thanks!
Can we give the iphone rumors a little break? 5 Minutes maybe? Honestly, it's out of control! It has become the subjectI least enjoy talking about... *yawn*
This is the most disgraceful article... someone died. End of story. Robots taking over the earth banter is just not appropriate.
um... isn't the Nokia L'Amour range also "inspired with colours and textures from mother nature" .... ?? SE finally caught on...
Hey Hey!
Just wanted to ask if anyone knew where the flagship stores in europe were as of now... and where they will be in the future...

cheers!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
