@andthemaniam

lol you are exactly right. in the beginning, i didnt hear too many complains about their network (i could be wrong, but none of my friends complained), but as soon as the iphone 3G came out, it just went to hell.

lucky for me, ive honestly had no problems with at&t. no dropped calls, and pretty good voice clarity. i get full reception everywhere i go, minus inside of hospitals (which is weird because sprint and t-mobile get reception there, but at&t and verizon dont - you would think its the other way around too) and other random places.
@andthemaniam

exactly. there was a nice post on gizmodo about how much money at&t is making and how its spending LESS on network improvements. (http://gizmodo.com/5428717/att-has-spent-less-on-network-construction-every-quarter-since-the-iphones-launch)

its also funny how at&t bought ad space on their site today as well...lol

same. my friends all come to me with "great" deals on laptops and netbooks, but they all have one thing in common - intel gma 950/3100/4500. i always tell them that the reason why those laptops are cheap is because the gpu and usually display are very poor (sometimes the displays are decent, but its uncommon). they may have "fast" cpus, 4GB of ram, and "huge" hard drives, but seriously, the gpu and screen (especially resolution) just kill it for me. examples of resolution? 15" 1280x800 and 17" 1440x900. that is totally unacceptable, as well as those laptops with 16:9 - those irritate me as well.

i have bought many laptops over the years, and the one thing i have made sure to do is to option them with the highest gpu and screen choices available (however, i would take 1440x900 led backlit over 1920x1200 ccfl). i dont really care much for the hard drive and memory as i usually replace them myself, and as for the cpu, i will spec it up one or two bumps.

i think intel should leave the graphics business completely and hand it over to ati and nvidia. intel is awesome at making cpus, NOT gpus.
@mullingit0ver

agreed. i also would love to see ion continue to be in the macbooks and macbook pros. apple absolutely doesnt need any more intel integrated crap (9400 >>>>>>> any intel gma).
nice to see that facebook is going to other platforms :)
agreed. ive used my friends N97 and i couldnt believe how pathetic it was. i definitely prefer the old nokias that were damned good. the N97 is in no WAY a flagship device for them...its not even that great. the worst part? my friend thinks its such a "nice and awesome" phone because of all its features. give me a break. i would rather use any windows mobile phone than the N97.
agreed. while i love this form factor (i had a treo 700p on sprint once before), the lack of wifi absolutely kills it for me. i can deal with the decreased resolution and cpu speed, but no wifi is seriously an instant deal-breaker.
nice! im glad its expanding to other platforms. :)
agreed. works for windows and mac too, and so far, all of my macs/pcs in my house use it perfectly without any issues.
cmon new mac minis/imacs! would love to see core i5/i7 in them :)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
