@hey I was told by a T-Mobile rep that they had 2.0 ready for a few of there handsets but that Verizon has a 90-day exclusive agreement. He wasn't aware of which T-Mobile sets would be getting 2.0 though.
My wife won't let me replace my Zune 80. I need some way to get an HD.
I just got done hacking it onto my G1 15 minutes ago.
I highly doubt that the lack of multitouch is because of patent issues. If that was the original concern then it should be gone now. If Apple does have a patent that covers the pinch to zoom, they haven't done anything to protect that patent in so many currently released products that if they finally decided to go after one, they wouldn't win just for the fact that they haven't protected the patent in other cases. If a company doesn't fight to protect a patent whenever it is infringed upon, it basically becomes invalid and they can't protect it in future situations.
As a Flash developer, I would love to see this functionality on Android. I've wanted to build a couple of simple native Android Applications but don't have any experience at all with Java nor do I have a ton of time to learn it. If I could use my Flash skills to crank out some apps on the Android platform and put them into the market then I'd be extremely happy.
I just got T-mobile 3G in my area (Provo, Utah) 2 days ago. So far it's been much faster than AT&T in my comparisons but the coverage area isn't near as big. It works in less places but when it works, it works well.
The Best Buy near me said they sold out in about 20 minutes and they can't get anymore right now because they are back ordered.
I've been streaming Pandora on EDGE since the Android app came out and it actually works pretty well. About 5 seconds to buffer the first song and then after that there isn't any buffering. Web pages load up just fine as well. It's not 3G but for what I'm doing on my phone, EDGE is very usable.
AVI isn't a codec. It's a format that can use many different codecs and supporting all of them isn't easy.
The page wasn't very difficult to find. I found it in 2 minutes of tweaking URL's.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
