Wow, engadget giveaways in Canada? Awesome!
@ Shyam D:
HDMI/Display port is already a balanced signal. (Needs to be at the frequencies they operate at) What you are looking for is an active balum, which is exactly what this cable has internally. Whether or not you can take this and push DP through CAT6 is a different story. Looking quickly at the pinout, it seems to have 5 balanced pairs, and 3 individual pins, + a ground. Thats 7 pairs, or 14 conductors. So you may be able to push it over 2 CAT6 cables, if they are high enough frequency and of close length.
Just waiting for some poor sucker to try:
"rm -rf /"
In a bestbuy flyer I got this weekend (in Canada) they were not advertising the new nanos at all, just the old ones at a discount.
What N? The only routers on the market are draft-N. Since their not following specifications, they can do whatever they like.

I believe that both 2.4 and 5Ghz are available to use under N, but I'm not sure if it requires both. Few routers offer 5Ghz atm. Though, this should easily have reverse compatibility with wireless a.
This is how it should be. No stupid DRM, no copy protection.

Free game, (or cheap game) $$ for the hardware. As long as there is sufficient protection against copying the hardware itself, they should have to worry about pirates etc.

Software used to ship with the commodore 64 like this: Copy the disk for backup, but only 1 little "License Dongle" included.
Aha! So you think your impervious to flames do to your metal body!

Do not forget that solder melts at 183 °C. Flame on I shall. You are on your way to destruction! Mwah Ha ha!!!
25lm => 25 lumens. Pretty dull in general, but amazing for its size.

I have a projector that is 20lb, only 640x480, and 90 lumens. Time to upgrade :P
Ah, the ramblings of an idiot.
"...Newtonians have lectured the world on gravity and the speed of acceleration increasing with height..." - Newton determined that acceleration was constant always, 9.81m/s^2. Way to go. Can't get through Physics 101 w/o knowing that.

"You simply never learnt how to build a river" - OK, you got me there. :P BTW: its learned, not learnt.

As for the water crap: I think what hes saying is (at least at the end) is questioning the water cycle, because he thinks that water is like a rope that is continuously pulling itself, so it will go through Hydro systems etc, and still end back up at the top. So, he is considering the water as free energy because it is an endless loop outputting power through hydro stations but not running out.

If this is the case, he fails to recognize a wonderful thing called the water cycle, where energy from the sun (which is not a free energy source either) causes the water to evaporate, redistributing it further up the system.
ARG!!!

Unless you are a serious audiophile, I doubt you are going to notice the sound difference between the line-out from the dock and the standard headphone port.

That being said, why can't idiots figure out that they can plug any computer speaker into the headphone port of their iPod, and save themselves $130?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
