Depends on the brightness level, and how often the numbers change. Many nixie clocks have display switches to turn off the tubes when you aren't using it. Assuming you leave it on all the time, you will have to change the tubes after a few years.
I think the taps in my apartment might be able to run a water boiler. I don't know what mistake they made when putting in the plumbing, but turning any of my taps on all the way give me a stream of water under enough pressure to cut aluminum like a water jet (well, maybe not, but at least enough to create a massive splash back that soaks everything within 10 feet).
I wouldn't turn it down.
Count me in for free CES stuff.
This means that within 10 years, I will be able to throw jumper cables out of my car to instantly electrocute joggers or cyclists who make me feel bad about lazing around in a carbon spewing V8. Thank God for progress.
@Chris MacDonald

You just answered your own question. The 360 Laptop had an external power brick because the 360 has an external power brick. The PS3 has an internal PS because thats what the Playstation 3 has. If the power supply circuit is integrated onto the mainboard, it would be pretty hard to route around it and use an external one. Plus the PS3 is a real power hog and pulls like 300W under load. I can't think of any laptop power bricks that can handle that kind of current.
@Marcus

Its called an MIDI synth. You can download software versions free online.
Hopefully it will be better than the G900. Even though it had some mouthwatering specs, it was slow as molasses, couldn't get a full GSM signal if you pressed it against a cellphone tower, and crashed all the time. Even if it works better, it still looks disgusting and hard to use as a phone (How do you dial?!?).
He's up to blue-grey T-Shirt level! I've never seen anyone get so high! Its only 15 more levels until black turtleneck!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
