I must be opposite of most people, I absolutely abhor and despise the thumb buttons. I'm always accidentally hitting one and going to where I don't want to go and normally loosing everything I typed into a text box.

I would probably pick this mouse over most others. I would kill for a Logitech MX1000 without the side buttons.
Am I the only one that absolutely hates the buttons on the thumb side?

I'm also left handed, but mouse with the right, and always had since 486 days.
That analogy isn't quite right.

DRM is more like saying you can't transfer the pizza from one plate to another. It's really up to the pizza place (label) on what they want to charge for what you get.

The book analogy isn't quite the same either. Yes, it is illegal to copy a book, just like it's illegal to copy a song. However, unlike copying a song, there is nothing preventing you from copying a book, other than the fact it's a pain. DRM is supposed to prevent song copies.

The closet analogy I would think of where DRM is applied to "paper" would be paper money. Most copiers these days have technology built in that keeps the copier from copying paper money.
Exactly, and that's possible Firefighters have drills where they go into a staged room and practice putting it out. That exact scnario could be set up easily, and that would be the best test.

The biggest part of this particular test is the water. Water will seep into a harddrive. Otherwise, electronics can get wet, just as long as they are 100% dry before they are powered.
I've done it twice now, and I have no issues. Maybe its a end user issue? ;)
I'm assuming some of you are complaining about updating since you just installed the latest build because you are formatting. I do hope you realize that you can just run setup.exe in an older build and it updates it for you, without losing any info or programs.
An unemployed Engadget fan would love to have one of these. :)
This unemployed guy would love to have a backup solution! :)
I'll tell you what, if the union can't come to an agreement (which btw, in my view, they ALL should be happy they have a frikin job in the first place), then I will be MORE than happy (along with THOUSANDS of ohter unemployed people) to take their place.
Unemployed guy would love to consolidate his 5 remotes :)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
