I don't stay productive, that is why I need things.
I have a couple of friends that bought BB Storms and they hate them. Anyone that asks them what they think of the phone they say "Don't get it". I am not trying to troll here that is just their experience. If you read the reviews of the storm most of them are not that favorable. I am sure they will improve but the black berry platform was never really intended to be a media centric device like an iPhone. They are definitely playing catch-up in that area. The iphone is in turn playing catch-up in the corporate/email world.
Would you like it if people expected you to work for free. This is a major update. Why should the developer who probably spent hundreds of hours on this give it away. People who bought 1.0 bought it because it was a useful tool, and they were happy with that purchase. I can understand expecting free bug fixes but come on. I don't know where this expectation came from that it seems everyone has now days.
I would scan all of my receipts so I don't forget to give them toy wife.
It's funny you bring this up. 2 people at my work (a tech company) just got a virus at nearly the same time. This is on Windows XP with Symantec Anti-Virus, fully updated. I can't imagine how many home users have viruses and don't even know about it.
I don't remember the name of the song but it was the theme song to an anime called Cowboy Beebop. If you do a search for Cowboy Beebop theme song on google I am sure it will come up with something.
The Titanium Powerbook? Really? I own the original 500mhz version and it has been a great computer for me, when it was released it was definitely a giant leap forward. They did have known problems with wireless reception and week hinges though. Apple, like all computer companies has their quality control and design problems. Where they generally set themselves apart is their attention to detail and well thought out design. I think you obviously have not used any of the new MacBook Pros because those are great machines. I have really liked all of Apple's line for the last 5-6 years or so, some were better than others of course but for the most part they have been of above average quality. Leopard is amazing and since the latest update has been rock solid.
You are missing a huge point of the Microsoft monopoly. They forced computer manufacturers to bundle windows with their PC's, they then bundled there own version of software (Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player etc..) and made it nearly impossible to remove this software. At the same time they made competing products perform worse and did not release certain API's publicly. Now look at apple, they sell a player, this player plays music ripped from CD's you can buy anywhere, it plays mp3 purchased anywhere, it plays AAC's purchased anywhere. The only thing that is limiting is the fact that if you purchase a song from itunes it must be played on a computer or an ipod, you can also burn it to a cd and play it in any cd player. So the big difference here is that apple is not forcing their product on you by leveraging there monopoly (like microsoft) they are just selling a popular product that happens to work with another one of their popular products, neither of which you have to buy or use.
Or how about gapless playback. I don't see how you can make a music device now days without that. That to me is enough reason to not by a Zune.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
