Maybe if they dropped their prices for their OS to a reasonable level, people would actually buy it instead of pirating it.

It's to bad that MS can't see that if they made this OS release $50, Linux and all it's headway that it has made the last few years would be dead ( not to mention Google's possible new OS )...

Redmond will see the light only as they are nailing the coffin shut in a few years. Now is the time for them to take advantage of the market share they still have.
Only in Oregon would we rely on 28 orbiting satellites, along with a some super duper hardware that has to be installed on EVERY vehicle and kept in continuous contact with Oregon State computer systems to tally your tax that you drove this year/month/week/day/hour.

Hell - Oregon went tens of MILLIONS of dollars over on their DMV database, they can't get their Department of Fish and Wildlife system to stay active during hunting/fishing seasons... Why not add a new system that will track virtually everyone in the state. They've done so well with the smaller stuff.

- Nice move Ted... You freekin moron.
We tried a dog... they kept suffocating in the compartment on our fire trucks...

Seriously though, this will be a huge help to us during hazardous materials incidents when we can quickly distinguish between chemicals.
So I can get a complete computer with a 8.9" screen with a 120 GB HDD, WiFI, and all the other goodies for $349.... but somehow because this thing has a SIM slot I'm supposed to pay almost $700????

WTF people, WTF.
If money's not a problem, how about one of the Panasonic Toughbook UMPC tablets? exceptional battery life, tablet format, and it gains you all the features that come with XP...

Or perhaps a an Atom powered netbook? Like a Lenovo S10?
I read Cylon the first time I looked at the article....

Is this what Tony Stark uses for a backup?
Saving lives and fighting the Dragon!
The BigDog could kick that things ass !
It looks like a Wii with a towel rack attached.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
