sorry - meant to say:

Here response... = Her Response...
I pointed out that the entire was sumptuous... = I pointed out that the interior was sumptuous...
Sorry y'all, I just saw it "in metal" at the recent 2008 NADA (North American Dealers Association) convention in San Francisco and, to put it mildly, I was underwhelmed.

Just as a test, as my girlfriend of 13 years and I were walking down Embarcadero where Jag/Land Rover were holding a "release party", I pointed at the XF (with tacky LED uplighting underneath) and said "What do you think of that car?" without letting on what it was. She approached it from the back, up the rear 3/4 view, along the side when - I kid you not - she proclaimed "It looks like a Ford". Once she got around to the nose she commented that she liked the grill, but the headlights looked "weird" and the creases in the hood looked like "it's trying too hard".

I pointed out "it's the new Jag" and her nose wrinkled. She asked where the leaping cat was and I pointed to the new circle emblem in the grill which she didn't like at all. She did note that the outline of the side windows from the profile appeared "jag like", but more like an imitation than legitimate design inspiration.

Her last comment, posed as a question: "That's the replacement for the X-Type, right?". Nope, it's a replacement for the S-Type, honey. Here response - "It looks like they cut a lot of corners." - ouch. I pointed out that the entire was sumptuous and the cool "power up" process that the controls go through and, to be blunt, she didn't care: "They should have made it look better".

And this from a gal who loves their "gorgeous" advertising campaign in all her fashionista rags (ugh). She keeps asking me where the "gorgeous" jags are, and I keep showing her the new XK and (now) XF and she thinks I'm wrong.

Last point - I showed her the XF prototype when we got home as a comparison and she said (sigh) "Now that looks hot."
Glad to finally see it in something other than the drab show-gray!!!

Awwwww, yeah - I can't wait to run me some Prius's off the road with one!

friko: [illegal] immigration and race have nothing inherently to do with one another. Looks like you're the racist, jerk.
As an owner of an 06 CTS-V (and loving it - no probs here) I love the spec sheet of the 09 CTS-V but love the look of the CTC here soooo much better. If only we could get this face on the sedan. Or, please god, a V version of this. Please, please, please.

Andrew: we must be at polar opposites, as soon as I saw this I thought "scratch every other coupe off my list, I'll take this". To me it makes them all look about 10 years older by comparison - to each his own I suppose.

For all those that are fine with these as an "expression", I'm sure you're also ok with a truck d*ck, vagina, or anus right? Why not have a big one of those showing off the rear (ahem)?

And, heck, if that's ok - why not have a mannequin head performing oral sex on those? What's wrong with that? Heck, why not have a full body mannequin have sex with them?

Where does this end?
Are you guys afraid of the booty or something? there's no rear shots, not even accidental ones. The face only tells half the story.

C'mon, if we're going to be lecherous, lets get in the game.

wow, they made it uglier.
JD Billiford: but in these times of limited and dwindling resources is it really socially, economically and environmentally responsible?

I'm presuming the resource you speak of is petroleum, but it is neither scarce nor dwindling. We continue to find more and more fields of larger and larger quantities and more efficient ways of extracting it.

Oh, you meant it is scarce because of the self imposed limitations placed upon refining that plentiful resource into usable fuel. Well, you have a point there. But it looks like we got exactly what you wished for then, eh?
As the proud owner of a 06 CTS-V I am praying I can afford this in 2 years.

My only quibble is the lower trim around the foglights seems a little busy, but the rest is so spot on I just don't care.

Oh man, did they say 550 Hp and lb? Wow, wow, wow.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
