@ibmpc
Thanks for being a voice of some kind of logical reason against this "I-hate-macs-cuz-they-expensive-stupid-non-mainstream" reasoning. If they think you're intolerant, they need to look at themselves honestly.

@RWD
ibmpc's rant was a bit long, but it should make up for all the silence on the side of Mac users when PC users are practically screaming all the time about how stupid Macs and Mac users are. "your opinions are invalid because it was longer than a paragraph"? Come on, let's be mature here.
*Sniff*
Ah the memories...
It brings me all the way
back to the days...
of Shufflepuck Cafe...
Take heart. They are getting VERY close.

And this is not even using embryonic stem cells, but your own, so we don't need to worry about the ethical debate, or the bad tendency for embryonic stem cells to cause tumors.
Hmmm... looks like Yahoo Go on my smartphone... sorta
Half-baked? You've got to be kidding me. Mr. Pot, meet Mr. Kettle... In all my years of experience dealing with the most popular OS in the world, almost _everything_ they do is half-baked but because their company has market share and lot's of money, they create crappy implementations of standards, and then force it on everyone. How long did it take for them to do TCP/IP right? Even though something happens to be wildy popular, it doesn't make it good or right. Come on, let's talk about objective merits here.
Actually, he's not high (completely). Bungie originally created games for the Mac before being bought by Microsoft. Their Marathon series was awesome and the story and character archetypes from that series served as a basis for Halo. Heck, even the insignia on the ship in Halo was from Marathon II.
You are no Scrouge. You are just one of the few people who believe that parents shouldn't be worshipping their kids. Loving your kid doesn't mean giving them everything they want. Loving your kid sometimes means giving them what they need (in this case, a good lesson in true friendship) and not giving them what they want.
Thanks to all who replied with good suggestions.

@Shadyman:
Thanks for the suggestion. We've used tape. Too expensive, and unreliable.

@Skankboy: "Anyone using 12+ DVD-R for backups of their servers is an idiot."

LOL! No I'm not! :D Given the budget and constraints I have, you might do the same.
Forget the pirates... Dump the camera... do they make one of these that functions backwards? ie. burn ISO's to a stack of DVD-R's? Running a 12+ DVD-R monthy backup of my servers gets really tedious.
This this was cool when it was called the Ximeta MediaShare Mini...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
