"Smart move on their part because Microsoft will waste a fortune trying to make the Zune platform a competitor to the iPod (regardless of low probability of success)" People also thought the xbox would fail. They were last to market, had no experience in the market, and and had higher costs. That's no less than what they're looking at now. jeez. I feel like a fanboy now.
some people configure their laptops to automatically connect to a wireless network. it wouldn't be hard to run a router of a 9 volt battery, manage it from your own laptop, and see when a laptop connects. However, this would only work with laptops are on, and you'd end up with a lot of connections from laptops outside cars as well. Another idea, LOOK IN THE WINDOW!

"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
