"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
Maybe you use Maemo for a little while you will realize its not that great of a platform.
1) Its the lease open Linux platform, in fact nobody else can use it.
2) It's got very little app support because it doesn't support paid apps. It's got tons of free apps that are not very good because nobody can work free and have the resource to refine the apps.
3) It's actually an old platform compare to other Linux phone platform. It has the most antique user interface. It was designed for bigger tablets and it really doesn't work very well on a 3.5" screen.
4) The only advantage of N900 now is the mobile firefox. As soon as FF make its mobile version available on other mobile platforms there is nothing of note in the N900.
