Neeko,

You whiny bitch... You have violated the 'Terms of Bitchiness' -- that is, more than one mindless post about how superior you are to the rest of the unwashed masses... In doing so, you have clearly shown yourself to be inferior to the unwashed masses and will heretofor be called 'Neeko-the-untouchable-whiny-bitch'... I'm going to let you of with a warning this time, but rest assured, I'll be keeping my eye one you... And one more thing, pull up your goddamned pants...
Rick,

I'm going to have to cite you for being a whiny bitch... Do you know how bitchy you were being? I clocked you bitching at 60 words-per-minute. Do you bitch everywhere, or do you just come to my jurisdiction to bitch. I'll be keeping my eye on you, son... One more bitch-up and I'll have to take you down to the station...
I 'AM' the coolest kid on the block... was before I had an iPhone, still am after I got one... No matter what I do or don't have, I 'AM' the coolest kid on the block... Got it, punk...
P&S -- Panasonic DMC-LX2 ~$500 -- 10MP, awesome manual controls, best MF mode...

DSLR -- Nikon D80 'kit' (18-70mm) + 50 f/1.8 ~ $1100 -- 10MP, access to quality glass, best bits of the D200 for half the price...

Leica M8 + summicron 50mm f/2 -- ~$5000 for the body, ~$2000-$4000 for lenses -- nothing like it...

When did engadget become the haven for so many tools??? What a bunch of !@#$%^ whiny cry-babies. Could every hater out there be more insecure about their toys? The iPhone ain't no Jesus-device, but neither is anything else on the market. And fer christ sake, the term 'pwn' or 'pwned' was played out 5 years ago -- what are you, fucking twelve-year-olds? Did you just pick up an outdated copy of "Leet-Speak for Dummies" with all that glorious cash you think you saved by not buying some new toy that, god-forbid, someone other than yourself finds interesting?

Do you really feel compelled to waste your time reading articles about every device you don't like just so you can piss on it and the people who own them in the hopes that some other miscreant might think you are 'teh-coolest' alternative dude in the room for a minute until the article drops off the bottom of the page? It must be really soul-crushing when the iPhone articles make their way to the 'next page' and you have to wait eagerly for another morsel to get posted so you can prop up your sorry self-image for another brief moment...

I am so glad your toy can do *whatever* -- give us a fucking break -- we don't care -- never will -- and god knows I would never go reading about toys that I don't have an interest in only to post insults to those who do care for them...

Use some of your saved up dollars and go buy yourselves a fucking clue.

Can I get a Hallelujah?
Brian --

I've logged your IP address and made a note of it in my Blackberry. I will forward the note to my friend, Old NSA Employee's Blackberry. We'll be keeping an eye on you, son.

It is funny that no one really addressed the actual question... namely, why don't people respect 'content.' Most of the responses rely on the the old 'straw man' -- DRM. No one acknowledges the fact that consumer choice is the real mechanism of change, not evasion. If you don't like DRM, if you are concerned that 'big-bad-media' is neffariously intent on disabling your ability to play DRM'd content 'sometime in the future' then you make a choice not to buy DRM'd content. The 'solution' of not paying for something you obviously *want* -- why do you possess it if you don't -- is no solution. You are breaking a societal covenant.

That covenant is what the question is really asking about... no one has made anything resembling a coherent argument for figuratively "dining and dashing."

Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
I think everyone here needs a little more coffee before interacting with each other...

First there is mistaken sarcasm, then someone starts feeding the trolls, someone tries to be ironic, then all hell breaks loose...

Just remember, if 'Apple' or 'Mac' are in the title, there will always be sarcasm, foolish trolls with diarrhea of the mouth, irony and eventually bedlam and civil infighting between the high schoolers and penny pinchers.

"As always, the patent lays out in explicit and excruciating detail what Apple has in the pipeline."

It's sarcasm, you robot...
While not the same exact problem, my blackbook often does not responsively wake from sleep if I rapidly close then reopen the screen. The computer will seem to be 'off', but if I wait 10 - 20 secs, it re-awakens.

I do notice that it is more prone to this behavior if the computer has not been restarted for some time -- say a few weeks.

I don't mean to speak for other's experiences, but I wonder if their computers are not shutting down but are instead experiencing extended sleep? A problem all the same, but maybe a different problem...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
