For sheer speed I recommend WD Scorpio Black 320Go 7200rpm hard drive.
I've just put one in my 17 month old macbook and it's like having a whole new machine. I had the Hitachi 160Go before (I guess it was running at 4200rpm).
It's a bit more noisy, and it drains the battery a lot, but that not the most important things for me, so the trade off is acceptable.
take a look at the second half of Cringely's column:

strange info, I think it's more regarding a diesel engine, the one from the 535d (3l, twin turbo, one slamm, one big and 272cv)
should be a logical top of the range diesel of the 3 series.
BMW will not compromise itself with supercharged engines like the ones of AMG...
H-D...if you got to chase a car, why not.
But if you have to chase another bike, to even bother to try with those heavy things that have no brakes or handling....

super cool hardware, better than soekris.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
