Did they really get rid of the eraser-mouse-thing? That's #1 reason that kept me buying Thinkpads...
The mini was very important for me, it's what got me to test the Apple waters and I even now own a mac pro as my main computer. I know several others who also got a mini as their foray into the Apple world.
I just hope they come out with a version that I can throw into my Mac Pro!
This is nice, but I only buy Thinkpads now b/c I NEED to have the eraser mouse. I can't stand the slide pad thingy on 99% of laptops.
Pics next to an 8800?
I have the 800 and love it. The bass with an X series sub from av123.com ($199) is awesome.
I got my free copy of Vista Business and Office 2007 from the Power Together promotion and installed both on my Mac Pro on it's own hard drive. It all works perfectly. I only have one device in device manager that isn't identifiable. I get 5.5 as the lowest on the Vista rating thing. Most are 5.8-5.9.
bahI just got one from Circuit city and it's missing all but one of the pads on the bottom so the screws are exposed and it doesn't glide well at all.

Gonna have to take it back tomorrow and exchange it =/
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
