proprietary firmwared set tops are crap. If you want HD get a PC. If you want to cap/record/timeshift hd and have it run your media center too, get a PC. Apple TV is crap. 720p? blah. nothing can do m ore than a PC and the best part is its fully upgradeable!
Google created offices here in Ann Arbor Michigan a few months ago. They have been working on scanning the University of Michigan's Library. If they don't have a plan of creating an online ebook service, they sure have wasted alot of money here. :D
you sir are a moron
mbit not MB i HIGHLY doubt its 480MBytes per second. use a small b engadget ;)
although wifi isn't really usable for hat this is for. its a hands free nas, bluetooth has the logic built into the protocol, to allow you to control it from any device. what we (and agere) really needs imo, is bluetooth v2, with faster transfer. 3mbit(1.5 usable), was decent a few years ago, but not anymore.
Agere says the next generation of BluOnyx will add Wi-Fi capability
engadget, sry but erm, "for your phone", its a NAS device, thats bluetooth and battery powered. If the battery is decent on this thing, it looks pretty sweet to me. Bluetooth is proving to be actually usefull, instead of just enabling ppl to annoy me with their headsets.
i wonder what the battery life is on this. i think this makes a nice replacement to my external hd i take with me everywehre. Its wireless and battery powered, so I can use it on my pc or anyone else can thats in the vicinity. If the battery is good in this, I think its something I've wanted for a long time. The ability to control it thru a phone is kinda cool, altho I don't know that I'd use that part of it. if only they made a car stereo head unit that interfaced with something like this, that would be awesome! I hope to see rev2 with better battery and 80gb. Don't let this product die Agere!, this is truly innovative in my opinion.
am i the only one that hates Itunes? lol

This interface is pretty slick. Could be faster but its beta. It already kicks YME & Napsters ass tho. those clients REALLY suck. imho
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
