Erm.....could you not just fire missiles from BEHIND it?

All that money and it's negated by common sense!
"as i said earlier, mac are for creatives. there is nothing creative about designing a linux database for an atm. sorry.

mac are tools just like pc's. perhaps this false asumption that makes macs better is not an asumption at all. i work on both platforms and i prefer mac"

And I'm a graphic design student who has avoided the Mac platform for the very reason that it attracts the unhinged masses.

As for nothing being creative about designing a database, I've got a few friends who'd disagree with you on that one. If you're truly a creative person, it has nothing to do with creating emotive products like art or literature. It's about being able to approach a problem in an elegant and successful manner. An inability to see the merit in all things is the first sign of a closed mind.
Tsk tsk John Doe. Is it conventional ethics to call someone a retard for voicing an opinion. Or did I trundle into the wrong neck of the internet.

Apple's "updates" certainly cost a hell of a lot more than anything Microsoft has churned out. And whilst MS has a competent and easy to use Media Centre OS, Apple is still trailing behind.

Hell I'm still shocked that the default media player in OSX doesn't allow fullscreen playback unless you spend $30!

Nobody is forced to upgrade, but Apple still does a fair job of making anyone using "yesterday's" (actually are quotes necessary, they are bringing out new iPods daily now aren't they?) hardware uncool. And since Apple's entire USP is that using their hardware/ software makes you cool/a rebel/different/special then all the fanboys rush out.

It's a nice OS, and I enjoy using it. But I really hate the zealots.
El Indiano, everything you use day in day out from your ATM to this web server runs on either Windows or Linux. Does this mean you should bow down and play with your transparency effects? No of course not.

Macs are tools just like PCs. Actually, Macs are PCs. The only difference is a false assumption that owning them makes you better than the rest of us. If you honestly care that much, then fine. The rest of us will enjoy that smug sense of satisfaction that comes from knowing that whatever you enjoy using is the correct choice.
@LukeA

Ah, but at least Microsoft doesn't expect you to pay every 6 months for their updates....erm...I mean important and obviously not superfluous new operating systems.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a wireless trackpad to use with my older (2.5 or so years old) C2D MacBook that's perpetually docked to my home theater. Something sleek, thin, not too small, made of high quality materials. Ideally, it would natively support all of (Snow) Leopard's multitouch inputs, and even more ideally, it would have a charging dock / base. The only problem is that I'm not sure that such a thing even exists. Think you can throw me a bone?"
