In America's worst nightmares there would be an animatronic Sarah Palin on that stage.

I imagine it'd work by pulling a wind-up string, causing it to spew bile all over the auditorium, which the ignorant trash in the audience would lap up like a last supper with Jeebus.
LOL! I always found it odd that in the 22nd century, they've harnessed the power of antimatter, can safely teleport people and objects through millions of kilometres of space, and travel faster than light. Yet....the best wheelchair money can buy moves at tortoise speed and uses binary beeps and blinks for Yes and No. Moral of the story: in the future, don't sever your spinal cord!

Seriously though, my father had ALS and while his electric wheelchair was pretty decent (for $25K it ought to be!) it basically required an assistant to move it safely. This would have been great for him.
$2,699? In this economy?

That's not a price, that's a dare!
Ahem...:

"to celebrate ITS' ability to provide free access"

Once again, "journalists": it's = it is. Its = possessive.
Of course everyone else will do the same! That's what people do during a financial apocalypse: throw away perfectly good, 2-year old $400 dollar computers for a brand new one!
Worse than that, I was scared I was going to "loose" my bowels!!
I CAN SEE YOUR DIRTY PILLOWS!

They're called BREASTS, mama.
"But to be fair to him, the earth was once flat ;-)"

That's actually a good analogy Derry.

Steorn claiming to have developed a zero friction device is scientifically the equivalent to claiming that the earth is flat.
I really wish people would stop comparing full-sized notebooks of ANY kind or age to netbooks, eg. "Why would you buy a netbook when for $50 i can get a Dell xxxx with a 17" screen and blah blah blah..." That's not the fucking point! People buy netbooks because they want something that doesn't require a trailer to haul it around, and something that can fit in a backpack, purse or briefcase. The last time I checked, that didn't describe a 12" G4 MacBook or any other laptop from Apple (including the Air). A hackintosh Wind is a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned.
I'll be more impressed when they've got it speaking Mumbai-accented English.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
