Tesla announces the Model S: a $60k, all-electric, five passenger sports sedan {Engadget}
Jun 30th 2008 3:15PM How much of the cost is the electrical/drivetrain stuff that makes it run vs the luxury stuff that makes it look like a supercar?
(not counting the uber profit I am sure they hope to make per car to cover the startup) By that I ask does the drive system cost $30,000 and if so, could they cut the supercar parts down to Honda Civic levels for $10K? Car ends up $40K. $20K for the drive system + $10K for a Civic class body giving us a $30K car?

Jun 16th 2008 2:03PM Ugh.... at least hire someone from a decent SFX department for deisgn! Move the battery pack (at least that is what I am assuming the part in the case is) under the forearm and place the actual unit above it, behind the hand. You have full use of your hand AND can just point your arm with hand bent down to use the scanner.
Sheesh.

May 22nd 2008 4:14PM I'd buy one. I LIKED the Del Sol, once you get away from the base model, owned two of them (at the same time!) Sold one to friends who wanted it.
Major wireless carriers all slapped with text-messaging class-action lawsuit {Engadget}
May 20th 2008 8:41AM I gave up and just put a data block on my phone. I would like to have the option of texting or other services if I ever wanted them, but twice now Verizon has included a few text messages on my bills. They were unable to tell me if the texts were incoming or outgoing and could not tell me who the other party was. I had to pay the bills.
Verizon seems to be padding bills that do not have text plans with extra profit makers --- only a few. But since I do not text at all and don't receive them either, the padding texts are VERY obvious.

Mar 27th 2008 9:58AM With the large keys, add a clear B&W screen or at least a decent high contrast display (verizon is right out then!) and you have a nice phone for people with low vision.

Feb 21st 2008 7:18PM Ah, sorry -- used one analogy when a better one would have done as well. I do not mean to imply that the technology is innovative, just not up to the hype of "thought control"
Unless there is a lot more happening than the article indicates, it is just like a button on a desk. If you run one demo program a cube will be displayed in front of you. Press the button and the cube vanishes. Run another demo and the cube is displayed, press the button and the cube moved toward you. The device detects that something occurred, and the program executes a specific action. Nothing more.
