I am going back to school for an MFA in emerging practices. I can always find a use for more computers.
Happy birthday, I hope you give me a nice birthday present.
Welcome to Cosco, I love you.
Cell phone and wall clocks
Cell phone for now, my wristwatch's battery died and I havnt gotten it replaced yet. Last time they broke it while trying to do so.
I thought Mitsubishi sold its LCDs through NEC now?
a 10 year old Timex!
It's probably already been said but im not gonna read all those comments:

Put GNU/Linux on it.
Yeah, who the hell has 1280x1024 monitors anyway? They've only been industry standard for like 10 years. I admit things are moving towards a widescreen standard, but so called SQUARE (4:3 or 5:4) resolutions have been around the block a few more times.

I think this would be an awesome product to use with 3 projectors for a seamless 3840x1024 experience. If one could afford such things that is.
Waffles, There are many reasons to put linux on all sorts of gadgets:

1) It's a challenge and challenges are fun.
2) It enables the device to (hopefully) do more than it was originally designed to do. Just look at the recent post of the iPod running Doom with a hacked NES controller as input! Plus, the zune has WiFi capabilities which could make it even more useful. It would be pretty nice to have an SSH client on my mp3 player.
3) Perhaps the irony of putting Linux on MS boxen is enough of a reason for some.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
