Its less of a space saver and more of a hold over from the old, single app fills the whole screen days.
Associating the menu with each window wastes a bit of space, but makes more logical sense for a multiprogram, multiwindow environment.

Did ATIs drivers/software stop sucking yet? The last ATI card I bought had crappiest most unstable drivers/software I've ever seen in a modern piece of hardware. I'm surprised I didn't have to set jumpers.

Nov 7th 2009 10:31AM The difference is the HDDVD spec was complete at release, and features like this were mandated. They weren't tacked on 3 years later forcing everyone to buy new hardware.
