I love this thing. The limitations sure are annoying at first, but you kinda get over it pretty quick. Having Launchast right in your palm, and being able to get tracks or albums you hear on a station at the press of a button is cool. I do wish I could just listen to whatever streams I want, and yes, a search would be sweet. But it's pretty much a standard MP3 player with added flexibility. Nobody talks about the flickr connection, and that is pretty cool (looks great on this beautiful screen!)
"I guess there are a lot more people out there not quite as wise as you are."
Ain't that the truth. BTW- Where on earth did you get the impression that I'm copying/stealing music? I didn't even do Napster back in the day. I've never done any of that stuff. And now I don't need to. Why would I pay a monthly service fee to rip off music they let me play anyway?
Hmm... So for $6/mo I could buy, let's see, as many as 6 songs from iTunes, and listen to those 6 songs over and over. -OR- I can listen to as many different songs, albums, radio stations as I want, and if for some reason I still own a DiscMan and I feel the need to have some of my songs in it and plug it into my cassette adapter in my fly-ass Cabriolet, I can still buy the tracks. And they're only $0.79 each!
HAhaha... Johnny-come-lately. Subscription service is the best thing since sliced bread. Yahoo for $5.99/month or whatever is great. I haven't bought music in a year and a half, and I don't plan to any time soon... Funny, Looks like ol' Steve's about to "invent" yet another thing that's already in use. Can't wait 'til the fanboys start touting the innovative new subscription service out of Cupertino
I love my 650, but it has its shortcomings. From the pics I've seen, this thing won't address those. My NEXT smart phone will have: WiFi, a USB port that will charge the phone (and work as USB host and/or mass-storage), and a REAL headphone jack.
Hurray!! The card slot's got a cover! Boo... It's on the side, which means no skin case. Mini-SD means new cards. SD was just too big, I guess?
You know, I'd be fine with the thickness of my 650...if it had a hard drive. Why not?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
