iPhone 3G and firmware 2.0: one week later {Engadget}

Jul 18th 2008 2:54PM Have not experienced some of the ongoing problems talked about here. I use my phone with exchange and it works beautifully - email comes through the phone before my desktop.

My guess is some of the aps from the store are causing the problems - my phone is pretty native. No games or other aps other than mylite and about 150 songs.

The only thing I have noticed is inconsistent battery life. I generally disable 3G unless I know im going to the web - but while the phone sits next to me in the office I have noticed the battery will be nearly fully charged at noon one day and nearly half charged the next day - with similar usage. I wonder if there is an app still running and sucking power on the bad days.

iPhone 3G review supplemental: battery life and MobileMe tests {Engadget}

Jul 16th 2008 3:02PM I specifically bought the iphone because it isn't thick - gave up a nice keyboard and tethering (among other sacrifices) for that.

iphone is not as capable as my broken HTC Mogul, but its more elegant and I gained an impressive screen and GPS.

Everything is a tradeoff.

Jul 16th 2008 2:49PM is it sitting idle if your using the push feature with exchange. Im turning 3G off presently as its not really needed for email push.

I have noticed that there is a slight time difference in push email when not in 3G, but its only a matter of seconds.

Tried to make a call yesterday - no service, then turned 3G on and had "more bars"

Penny pinchers: Chevy Aveo billboard speaks to the frugal {Autoblog}

Jul 9th 2008 2:29PM Chevy knew exactly what was going to happen, very clever marketing.

Wouldn't be surprised to find out the people pictured were models hired for the purpose of prying the coins, especially since the ground under the billboard is littered with coins that need not be pried.

Then again, perhaps Chevy actually plants a professional photographer with a Nikon D3 at every one of their billboards to capture images of the defacement.

Jun 27th 2008 1:48PM Its not the same as tethering your cell phone to your laptop to share its 3G internet connection. (unless you are running special software to turn your phone into a wifi router aka WMWifiRouter)

This is a wifi router that any (multiple) wifi devices can use. The equipment has been available off the shelf to two years.

$29/month is cheaper than other 3G plans I've seen.

Apr 4th 2008 6:06PM I know it sounds bad on paper, but for those of you harping about the 0-60 times you are clueless till you have driven one.

I picked up my car in January and have been commuting in it nearly every day. The car never feels slow on both the highway and city street. I tend to be a slightly "assertive" driver and typically lead the pack on city streets and on the highway frequently use the left lane (for passing), merging is not a problem.

All this while under the 4500 rpm max for break-in period.

Am I going to win a race against another car? - no. Does the car feel slow or inadequate? - not in the slightest.
