Does this differ much in end result from existing black to white depending on temp paint? Which already exists but the MIT folks may not know about?

A paint that changes from black to white depending on temp used to create a seven segment display:

Which uses Eclipse paint found here:

Which changes color at 75 degree for the blue/black version according to a picture here:

That DTEV-DUAL EVDO module looks pretty friendly.

Scroll down at: http://www.anydata.com/modems.php

Straight to the datasheet at: http://www.anydata.com/pdf/dtev-dual.pdf

Of course it has probably been configured on the backend network to only connect to Amazon, so it may not do much web browsing once you extract it.
HSDPA is currently only working on Cingular (The new At&T, Your World, Delivered, To the NSA). T-Mobile bought spectrum to deliver it but it is on a different frequency than everyone else so it won't really transfer between networks. EVDO has the largest coverage area in the USA. The only real gripe here is that it is not Revision A EVDO and just the regular stuff.
Pro x64 cannot be "upgraded" to Vista. It qualifies for the upgrade price/package but a full install must be done.

Just an FYI.
What most people do not realize is that Porsche Design has nothing to do with Porsche cars. The Porsche in Porsche Design is related to the original, but not to the company. Which is why it isn't in the Porsche dealers in America. They are just using a name and the consumer's lack of insight and brand loyalty or desire of, to promote themselves. We could all trace our lineage back to someone famous and promote ourselves with that information, but when it becomes obvious it is often frowned upon.

-Just an FYI.
[6. If you knew anything about LCD resolutions you would have though twice before posting this]

Which part?

The 1920x1200 WUXGA display on my 15.4" laptop has
2304000 pixels
The 1600x1200 UXGA display on this 21" has
1920000 pixels

and the pixels are larger on the 21". And it has an analog to digital converter on board in addition to the two DVI inputs I assume, something the laptop does not. And more backlighting.

Granted 21" LCDs have been over $1000 USD for a long time, but have come down recently.. and this adds a whopping .3" which I can't imagine almost doubling the price...
Andy - this is EVDO, it does up to 2mbps, normal is around 400-500kbps - which is faster than Bluetooth can do. So you either need to use a USB cable to a phone or have a card if you want the full speed.

thomas_h - people have them... just not for sale it seems. google expresscard media reader. Macally and YEdata have them
That is a 1.8" Hitachi drive, so this enclosure should be the same size as a normal 2.5" one with that drive inside. Pretty normal size then, not big like some have posted.
a group within best buy has had these phones for a few months. On the Sprint one you can have WiFi and EVDO at the same time, not so on the Verizon ones. Bluetooth dialup is also enabled on the Sprint ones and not on the Verizon ones. That and the color are the big differences
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
