Nokia firms up touchscreen phone plans, says it will focus on 'mid-range' markets {Engadget}

Jul 17th 2008 2:14PM How is a phone company that released a 5 MP, GPS, 640x480 video at 30fps, wifi, HSDPA, internet, voip built in, awesome email client a year and a half ago usually take it slow? There flagship phones are usually ahead of the pack to damn near it. What a ignorant comment. Now Nokia's interface is definitely not as nice or sleek as the iphone's and I don't expect this iteration to be, but as far as technology goes they have always been a leader. And they have announced they have plans for a flagship touchscreen device, though I'm sure they want to test out a mid range one first before and take care of issues or mistakes. I expect the first flagship touch by Nokia to be leaps and bounds above the "touch" and for them to eventually get to an iphone esque usuability.

Highlights from Nintendo's E3 2008 press conference {Joystiq}

Jul 15th 2008 1:31PM For me personally nothing interesting was announced and it was actually really boring hearing about how great there sales were. It seemed like half the presentation was about nintendo's sales and how they are expanding the market. That's great but put it in a blog or something. So far it's MS #1 and Wii a distant second, god I hope a distant third as far as keynotes are concerned. I hope Sony has something on the scale of a FFXIII announcement but probably not. I think this years best E3 is going to be MS, any takers?

See screens of Microsoft's JRPG lineup {Joystiq}

Jun 12th 2008 8:12AM I would assume MS had to throw down a few bucks to secure these first and if that's the case it really shows how badly they want the Japanese market and it's not something they aren't going to shy from yet. They get enough good JRPG's fans of the genre I would think will almost have to start paying attention because as of yet they seem fairly exclusive to the portable market. I think MS is betting/in need of just one of these titles to be a gem. That's what they really need, a RPG to call there own and that stands out like the FF series or monster hunters etc. It'll be interesting to see how this affects the 360's sales in all three regions as it could make it the dominant RPG console platform considering at least one of these games is really good.

Duke Nukem Forever teaser coming tomorrow {Joystiq}

Dec 18th 2007 7:31PM As long as there is men playing video games Duke Nukem will have relevance. He's a chauvinistic badass that is a blast to play and he will be loved again for it if they can bring back the old charm. Hail to the king baby.

Nokia's patent application shows 8 megapixel N-series slider? {Engadget}

Dec 3rd 2007 10:49AM It's an ugly design but who buys a phone to show off how cool it looks? As long as I can load my NES, SNES and sega emulators, check and send email, surf the web, listen to music, GPS, take good pictures and video and send them to friends or upload them directly to my flickr account like I can with my N95 it could look like a tampon for all I care. Plus I keep mine at 3MP usually to cut down on noise a bit so I wouldn't worry about MP too much.

Nintendo promotes fiber-optic internet in Japan {Joystiq}

Nov 29th 2007 11:37AM Nintendo needs to promote fiber optic support here in the US because the way we're going I will not be alive to see it unless a miracle happens and FIOS is allowed in my area.
