Netflix to charge "premium" for renting Blu-ray Discs {Engadget HD}

Apr 22nd 2008 1:00PM Not that I'm defending this additional fee, but not only do Blue-ray movies cost more, aren't the discs more fragile? I remember reading somewhere that small scratches and finger prints can cause the discs to stop working, whereas a DVD with similar smudges and scratches would work fine. When I've gotten DVDs from Netflix, some of those were on the brink of not working--some I figured couldn't possibly work, but I cleaned them off in some water and they played fine mostly. I would imagine, if this is the case, Blue-ray movies would have to be replaced more frequently than DVDs as they're less durable. So, I'm thinking: high prices + higher replacement rate = a need to charge an additional fee or lose money.

NiGHTS' price falls to Earth {Nintendo Wii Fanboy}

Mar 28th 2008 10:39AM Yeah, I didn't care for the game... I played it once and was like WTF, Nintendo Power, this game is NOT a 9.0 in my book. I guess I could force myself to play the game, but what's the point, I'm a busy guy with other games that need to be played... my copy is heading straight to eBay when I get the chance.
