Interesting... i've never had to take my IBM Thinkpad in for repairs... ever. And that sucker not only gets used almost everyday, but it takes a beating on my trips to and from Mexico.

INQ wins "Best Mobile Handset or Device" at MWC, golf claps {Engadget}

Feb 19th 2009 3:32PM Well... Everyone seems to be complaining that all these other phones are better than the INQ and are more deserving of the award... maybe it won because as a phone it stands out so much from its direct competition.

I mean, outside of number of units sold, the iPhone isn't much better (if at all) than any of its competitors... it misses so many basic features that the generally disappointing Storm has... and I don't want either one of those phones, but honestly i'd have a hard time choosing between the two if I was foced to.

Maybe this phone is THAT much better than its direct competition to make it worthy of such an award. It's like having Toyota winning truck of the year, and having a bunch of people complain that "Well, my Escalade or Hummer has this and that and does this and looks like that..."

Jan 30th 2009 12:22PM Jeeez, that phone is going to be sweeeeet. Great video. I can't get enough of them!

Someone should have reminded him that you were videotaping tho... because the frantic, annoying hand gestures right in front of the camera were obnoxious as hell lol... but not as obnoxious as him saying "um" between every word. lol

Wow, I am picky this morning.

Days to 1 million: the smartphone wars {Engadget}

Jan 29th 2009 11:36AM I don't actually have any of these phones right now...

but my opinion is if the G1 launched on a network like Verizon or had a real established smart phone customer base and a fully rolled out 3G network like AT&T, it easily would have hit 1 million in half that time, maybe even faster. But they got the deal with T-mobile, it is what it is, and nobody at HTC or T-mobile is complaining i'm sure.

The Storm numbers make sense to me because it is such a major change for Blackberry users who like Blackberry for the physical keyboard. But even then, this graph only shows US sales for the Storm so obviously it hit a million much quicker...

As far as the iPhone 3G goes... hey, good for Apple... an EXTREMELY well planned, and truly GLOBAL launch, mixed with incredible amounts of hype and marketing... this is why they are king right now. Don't hate the player, hate the game. lol (I say that even tho I don't like the player haha)

So yeah, like someone else said, nothing in this graph surprises me. Actually, one this does, i thought the original iPhone hitt a million faster... either way, thanks for the graph Noel, it was interesting.
