Well, with wireless electricity there's absolutely nothing in it to harm you, unless, of course, you resonate at the same frequencies (about 20hz) as the sound waves being pumped out. It's really more of wireless energy, or you could even say it's a new way of generating electricity. If you set up a field of the devices to resonate at different frequencies, then played some music, you might actually generate electricity. They don't know how well this works at higher frequencies, though...
Jesus...I think everybody is out to sue Qualcomm right now. Maybe I'll hire a lawyer and join the party...I'm sure I can find something equally as moronic to sue them about as these lawsuits coming from everybody else.
Limited vision?

Safari is horrible, buddy. I'm a professional web developer and Safari is like the bastard step-child of the boogie man. Crap standards compliance, very limited JavaScript support, EXTREMELY poor JavaScript performance. Clearly you're just another Mac fanboy.

I don't even use Opera on my desktops. It's installed, for testing, but I don't use it. Opera, however, happens to make a first-class mobile based browser that IS standards compliant. Next time read up on your stuff before making moronic unfounded claims based on what your fellow Mac fanboys tell you.
You know, up until now I was planning on buying an iPhone on day 1. Now I'm really not so sure.

No 3G?
Okay I can forgive you.

Cingular/AT&T only?
No biggie, I already have it.

Required 2-yr service agreement?
Sigh...okay fine.

$500?
A bit steep, but it's pretty slick.

No MMS?
What? That's irritating...whatever happened to the revolution?

No iChat/IM support?
That is just downright irritating.

No Bluetooth syncing with iTunes/Address Book?
Why? It supports Bluetooth, so why not let it sync? Grr!

No GPS and no bluetooth GPS support?
WTF? This is just moronic...what has Apple been doing?

No third-party app support guaranteed?
Um, way to keep it proprietary...punks.

Safari instead of Opera's Mobile version?
That is just irritating...safari is whack, but understandable...sigh.

Overall, the iPhone has just lost it's lustful, shiny coat and it hasn't even dropped yet. I'm sure they'll sell like crazy the first few weeks, just like the PS3. They'll also probably quit selling so well after that, just like the PS3. The average cell phone user doesn't care about slower service (most don't understand it anyways), lack of GPS (again, most don't understand it), lack of 3rd party app support, or Safari. They DO care that it works with all of their friends and lets them do all of the things they like doing.

Oh, and I wish the iPhone came WITHOUT the iPod portion...I don't ever listen to music on my phone...that's what I have an iPod for.
First, I don't have a Canon...I don't like the plastic the Digital Rebel is made of so I started with a Nikon...so now I use Nikon. A studio that I shoot portraits for on occasion uses Olympus though...and I hate them. They are some of the worst camera's I've ever had to use. The shape doesn't fit your hand, the controls are awkward at best, and the viewfinder picture is small and dull. It doesn't focus very well either. They use E-500s and E-300s, but I haven't played with an E1. It might or might not be better.

But yeah, to say the least, I'm not really too excited about a new camera from Olympus.
Hank, great point, I agree 100%.

Mike, where are you getting your stats? If you know anything about law then you know dumping is illegal. Selling units for substantially below cost is considered dumping...so there is no way Sony or MS would do it publicly...so again, where did you get your data that Xbox360 and PS2 where sold at a loss?
Why do people not like Blu-Ray? Well lets see...it's virtually the same technology as HD-DVD, only Sony is behind it. Let me summarize: Sony.

Sony is notorious for trying to push proprietary formats on the world that nobody wants or needs that aren't even technologically innovative and then they charge too much for them (most recently MemorySticks).

Oh, and I'm sure they're trying to find a way to have Blu-Ray disks install rootkits on your computer too...haha.
Um, have you ever called MS for Windows support? If I remember correctly, it's $100/incident and you talk to an Indian. Woohoo. I'd much rather deal with the stupid Apple technical support...at least I can understand what he's saying.
You don't get much do you?

HELLO?!? I think that they remember it very well....watch the commercials this whole discussion is on!

Here's the gist of the point that the ads get across since you live under a rock:
PC = Needs extra peripherals, lots of complex setting up, and a pain in the ass to do anything on.
Mac = All in one, easy setup, and easy to work on.
Um, Macs can run Half-Life 2...or any other PC software actually...since they can run Windows WHILE running Mac OS X. What now?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
