I used the free version (standalone program)
I like to use Neat Image (they have a free version). Here is what you get with auto settings and a slight tweak of brightness using Picasa (also free):

Wow, nice job - makes me want to go!

Agreed, I bought the optio (Altoids size) and while it looked cool, great interface etc. I could not get it produce decent pictures. It went back and I like my bulkier Canon better.
Russel said" And you can get that with HD-DVD or your favorite 1080i HD movie channel."

what channel delivers 1080i currently in North America?
I am currently surfing the net with a 1280p monitor (it's 19"...) monitors look best when using their native resolution so no pixel scaling is needed.

720 converted to 1080 does not always look so swell.
HD isn't pointless, this 1080p native HD TV is. Until broadcasters start shooting and distributing in 1080p (none do now).

Perhaps blue-ray DVD's will speed things along but in the meantime, broadcasters don't have the bandwidth for 1080p and have already made huge investments in lesser compressed versions of 'HD'.
The article mentioned a built in tuner as something special - the Slingbox also has a built in one and can select between it, a video in and an s-video input for multiple devices. Sling has remote control codes for almost anything and more are added all the time.

As the owner of an ugly/wacky looking Slingbox I can say you should compare actual performance and device compatibility before you buy. If you want Porsche design, buy a Porsche.

The positive attributes of Slingbox are many and not all obvious at first - do your homework before you buy something like this.

Stuart - very happy with Slingbox and it gets better as features are added.

#19 You said it. Smug American views on guns/violence etc are ironic at best and kill innocent people at worst.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a wireless trackpad to use with my older (2.5 or so years old) C2D MacBook that's perpetually docked to my home theater. Something sleek, thin, not too small, made of high quality materials. Ideally, it would natively support all of (Snow) Leopard's multitouch inputs, and even more ideally, it would have a charging dock / base. The only problem is that I'm not sure that such a thing even exists. Think you can throw me a bone?"
