Nice, now maybe we'll see some smaller engines, and possibly a diesel in the C class.
The only 'upside' I can think of to jacking up the ethanol levels to the point of voiding warranties? Cash for Clunkers part II !!!!

Any car over 10 years will be eligible, as it would fail on the fuel. ;)

Really hoping this doesn't pass, at least not until the ridiculous import duties on S. American ethanol are eliminated to make the US ethanol producers more honest.
Face it, auto blogs and the internet are killing the auto shows. Why go to an auto show, when all of the info and pics related to new releases has been out for weeks?

Don't get me wrong, it's been great going up to Detroit rock city for the past 8 years (minus 2009). The main reason to go is to actually sit in the new cars (note to manufacturers, don't lock up the new cars, except the $$$ ones of course). Aside from that, pretty pointless these days.
The Toys for the Tots thing, if I'm correct, is one of those charities that sells donations in $1 increments. That would be why a $20 donation on the order page shows twenty $1 donations. The rest probably goes towards the car and the pizza. It makes it easier for people who aren't accustomed to giving cough up some cash while getting something out of it for themselves.

Similarly, those Staples Easy Buttons sold for 5 bucks, with a portion going to charity.

Papa Johns does something in Indy (probably nationally too), where they join with charity groups/schools, etc for a $10 coupon book, which has coupons for a free 1 topping large pizza, and many bogo coupons. I doubt they make much, if anything if you use a few coupons, but it goes to name recognition and charitable causes.
For geniuses like Braden who never read the linked material, you can donate directly to the Toys for Tots right on the die cast car order page without even getting a car or the pizza that comes with it.
If this is a bigger engine, like the 2.0 diesel VW engine some of us want, may be outside of US-only (urea needed).

And what the ?

Just saw two post deleted that noted an error in the title. Big deal, we all fail in grammar on occasion, but deleting inoffensive posts that note the error and then not marking the entry as "edited at xx time"?

This coming from a blog that railed on the Crosstour Facebook comments that were deleted?
Maybe a new diesel in the thing? After all, Subaru uses hood scoops for their diesels.

Oh, and title fail.
In Indiana, we use lottery proceeds to subsidize license plate fees. It essentially works out to taking money from people who pay the idiot tax, and the people who benefit the most own the most expensive cars.

In a more perfect world, lottery money would pay for education, and we'd all pay the true cost of our yearly car registrations.

Not surprised by the move in NY to raise fees, as we're seeing fees rise just about everywhere. Unfortunately, when the economy improves, these fees tend to stay at those raised levels.
Hmmm....3 series diesel wagon w/ all wheel drive would be nice.
In other news, several more companies, along with BMW/Mini decide to delay their diesel offering in the US by a few more years.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
