Who said anything about video? I use firewire for everything /but/ video. Don't even own a camcorder, firewire or otherwise, yet my firewire port sees daily use.
Not really. The 2.5" drives can be stacked to just be roughly the height of an older 3.5" drive, but they're still a lot smaller in terms of square centimeters (or square inches, if you still use those archaic measurements.) This is why the thing doesn't have an optical drive: it had to go to be able to fit the second hard drive.
Yes. MacOS X Server is exactly the same as MacOS X client, in terms of the core OS and supported hardware. Its the parts where it has server functionality where it differs. For instance, its AFP server isn't limited to 10 users, it comes with a functioning mail service, server management daemons, etc.
They have to be 2.5" drives because, well, 3.5" physically won't fit in the box. Not while leaving space for anything else, anyway.

Why does the 'Remember me' button not do anything?
I was going to say that this wasn't true, but then I wanted to check that and found that buying the apple remote with a macbook is not an option, whereas this /is/ an option with all the other IR-sporting computers. So it appears you're right: they killed the remote option on the MacBooks. Not as bad as killing firewire, but still.

That said, losing the black dot itself does not necessarily mean the apple remote is not supported. The iMacs have never had the black dot and work fine with the remotes. (In fact, the iMacs introduced them.)
FW400 is fine. It should just be there, rather than be left out so owners of firewire hardware will have to pony up the extra $€200 for the privilege of being able to keep using said hardware.

And yes, I do think Apple will update the macbook again. It is the most popular mac ever, and it will likely stay that way for a while.
Ah, I just remembered what it reminded me of: flip over a Time Capsule or square-model Airport Extreme. It appears to be the same as that.
If you read the text you can find out why: it's a giant non-slip surface. They took the previous macbook's feet (which were the same colour as this is) and made them spread over the entire surface.
And again they're playing the 'let's remove firewire' game, after which we all complain and they add it back again. I've submitted feedback on apple.com/feedback and I urge everyone else to do the same. Macs should not come without firewire!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
