10.3 Jaguar was my first love. I guess I was lucky that was my first exposure. I'm not sure I would have been blown away if it was 10.2. I've also used 101 and 10.2 since I made the switch.
We need more party platters and finger snapping!

Does anyone know if it is possible to restore to any of the 1.x.x firmwares after the 2.0 update? I really want to try it out, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to give up being jailbroken.

You say much better than I can.
I agree with you completely.
I only partially agree. I've had my iMac G5 for nearly 3 years now and in that time I've upgraded my ram to 2gigs and a 500gig hard drive. With the exception of a graphics card, I would have never changed anything else had my iMac been a tower.
There aren't any ports that I've wanted and I knew the graphics card would be dated pretty quickly going in. Also it was far easier to upgrade the ram and HDD than in most towers I've built.
Tho it's true they're not for everyone
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
