Creative's 16GB / 32GB ZEN X-Fi PMPs now on sale in America {Engadget}
Jul 16th 2008 9:11AM I've had a few creative devices in my day, and they've all been drag and drop players, including the ZVM. The next gen Zen payer was drag and drop using it's media browser, and I would expect the X-Fi to be the same way. If not, it can still be synced up through WMP11, so it isn't like you're still tied to it's own proprietary stuff.

Jul 9th 2008 11:34AM double post, crap... sorry
Amex Digital gets a little too inspired with new portable Super Multi Drive {Engadget}
Jul 9th 2008 11:34AM Seriously, if you ask me, apple's superdrive looks a lot like my Iomega USB floppy drive. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=699098&CatId=287
Give it a rest, Apple isn't the only one with the notion that if you pull all the labels off an object, make it small and compact and a solitary neutral color, it will sell...That's called minimalism, and it is part of an entire contemporary movement in design. Get the hell over yourselves for thinking Apple is the end-all of anything. They're just a duechebag company that sells style for a premium, just like prada or coach, which are still just bags that hold your nasty habits, with a fancy label.

Dell Studio 17 and Studio 15 review roundup {Engadget}
Jun 27th 2008 10:51AM Where's the 13" model? Really? First of all, the 13" model is a niche market laptop. you just read, or should have read, where this laptop is a little thicker than the xps models, and the inspiron doesn't have a 13". They probably wanna see sales up before they start getting into your little semi-ultraportable market group. And, it's a first-gen model. Let it get to market for more than a week before you start bitching, seriously.
Microsoft rumored to be allowing third-party Xbox 360 hardware {Engadget}
Jun 26th 2008 4:36PM I would disagree so much it hurts. Allowing the 360 console to be upgradeable in the same manner a PC is upgraded will only cause major fallout in the consumer market. The whole purpose for getting a 360 in the first place was because I knew that I didn't have to worry about upgrading it every year to keep playing. Allowing this would cause the Cliffy B's of the world to push the graphics on games that are supposed to be fun to the point where it cripples gameplay and forces consumers to upgrade. Leave the to the PC gamer/enthusiast crowd. I'll keep my xbox the way it is thank you, and upgrade it when the 720 or whatever comes out in a few years.
HP's TouchSmart 2 all-in-one PC now shipping {Engadget}
Jun 25th 2008 9:31AM it really doesn't matter cuz it's a mixed bag when it comes to specs anyway. the iMac clocks faster on core speed, but the HP has 4GB RAM, so it doesn't really matter how fast it clocks compared to the 1 or 2 GB of the iMac. Not to mention that the HP comes with a bigger stock screen than your cheaper iMac versions. Then you throw in the market HP is reaching out towards. They have a massive fanbase among sensible, "I just want a machine to do ordinary things on" computer users who are accustomed to windows and care not for all things glossy white or anodized metal with fruit stamped on the side. You say that it doesn't ship with OSX and that is the major downfall. This is coming from someone who uses OSX with a certain degree of hatred for windows. For the rest of us who actually enjoy Vista, along with the magical "stay safe from viruses" tagline, and it will sell very well. Face it, this is like the Ron Paul breath of fresh air to your neocon Steve Jobs and his fascist governing methods with the operating system and price points. It's attractive, moderately powerful, possesses features your beloved iMac doesn't have, and priced well within reason.
NEC kicks out 26-inch EA261WM LCD monitor with WUXGA resolution {Engadget}
Jun 18th 2008 2:26PM I'm still rockin' a NEC LCD1760vBK from like 7 years ago. I never pushed the brightness too high cuz I keep my workroom fairly dark, so it should still have all the brightness left in it. And Best of all, still not a single dead pixel after 7 years. Regardless of type of panel it is, TN or whatever, if this new 26" has a quality standard remotely like my 17" panel, I'm all over this.
VoodooPC website goes up in smoke... and mystery {Engadget}
Jun 5th 2008 1:00PM So I work in web design, and I show this to my manager and say "this is probably the coolest Coming Soon page I've seen in a long time"...She comes back and says "but it doesn't say "Coming Soon" anywhere on it, I think it's dumb...
I guess it's assumed by people who don't spend all day shopping at "the gap.com" that this
